What are you doing tonight?

Eating Chinese food, and reading about Property Law.
I bet the women love you....

But no worries, as soon as the actual money from your studies comes in they'll be all over you. Dont settle too soon!
After the twenty years of paying off student debt..

Thankfully, I got a very generous financial aid package and have enough money to pay the difference from my savings.
That's nice...Considering the cost of a legal education...It was two hundred bucks a credit hour in 1979 when I wanted to go to my granddad's alma mater in OKC...And they increased the degree from six to eight years and I didn't want to go to college that long...

That isn't far from the truth. I went to DeVry and the debt followed me forever
I started college in 1979 and my last year was in 1997 and I still have a four thousand dollar bill....For some reason they want me to pay it..

Yeah, it's nuts. Without aid, 3 years at my law school would cost something like $170,000.

I know and the starting wage for lawyers is one hundred and forty four thousand...I wanted to be a corporate snake...Not the criminal representative...I did do courses through local colleges while in the army but never much went passed a legal aid status and it was the 1980's and well men weren't supposed to do women's jobs then...

Well, starting salaries depend on what you do. If you go into Big Law, then you can make as much as $200,000 starting salary, at least here in DC.

Big Law is not for me, though.

Look what it cost to live in the surrounding area. I was stationed at Fart Belvoir in 1985 and it was over six hundred a month for an apartment, one room..I didn't even make that much a month in the army...

I pay almost $2,000 a month, for a decently-sized 1 bedroom.

In NW Ark, some of the new apartments are nine hundred a month....I could pay two mortgages a month with that..

That's ridiculous. How much is minimum wage there?

I'm not sure.

There are significantly cheaper places to live in the DC area than where I live.

I pay about three hundred and fifty for a three bedroom house on 43 acres with a property tax liability of two hundred and forty dollars a year...

What a minute, we just violated the ethics of topical conversation...Everyone take a two minute self imposed ban...Plus I have to put clothes in the dryer..
