What If We Actually Had Poor People In This Country?

They rely on churches and relief organizations to feed them.

I live here, this is horribly real. It's new, it started about the time Obama came into office. The Communist rulers here in California became emboldened in their attack on the middle class. This may not be where you are, but it will be.

"California Considering Tax On Breathing

article-3469-1.jpg

SACRAMENTO, CA—The California legislature unveiled plans last week for a new tax on the privilege of breathing.

The "Check Your Oxygen Privilege Act" will be voted on later this week. If passed into law, Californians will pay a progressive tax on inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide, with wealthier residents paying as much as 40% of their income for every breath they take. The poorest tax bracket may receive a subsidy for their breaths under the new model.

"Once again, California is at the forefront of progress," Jerry Brown said in a press conference Monday. "We've talked about taxing text messages, vehicle mileage, sneezing, sleeping, and your very existence, and this was the logical next step." The government has reportedly developed special breathing meters to help implement the bill, should it pass. Californians will be forced to purchase the meters from the state and wear them at all times to ensure accurate measurement of the amount of air they're using.

At publishing time, California had unveiled a tax on taxes, charging residents a luxury tax for the privilege of being taxed."
California Considering Tax On Breathing
The great success Governor Brown has had is mainly due to his to his taxing the rich more like their fair share, since our GOP obstruction government won't do it

"The great success Governor Brown has had..."

Why is liberal California the poverty capital of America?

That's the LATimes....
No that is some idiot right wing jackass writing an opinion. It is only the poorest when you take into account the cost of living in the most powerful economy in the United States. Huge growth under Governor Brown, mainly by making the rich pay their fair share more like and investing in the people and infrastructure. Which GOP giveaway to the rich tax rates the last 35 years have not done, causing the ruin of the middle class and the country. Thanks scumbag GOP and silly dupes like you..

There is no poverty in this nation, merely that propaganda you swallow, and regurgitate here daily.
Read the links, brainwashed functional moron. After 35 years of GOP giveaway to the rich, we have the worst inequality and upward Mobility ever and in the modern world. And it just keeps getting worse until the Democrats get in with a landslide.

Over half a century of Democrats feeding the fake welfare system, $22 trillion, the poverty rate is almost the exact same as it was at the start.
  1. ‘Welfare’ as a wholly owned subsidiary of the government, and its main result is the incentivizing of a disrespect for oneself, and for the entity that provides the welfare. As more folks in a poor neighborhood languish with little or no work, entire local culture begins to change: daily work is no longer the expected social norm. Extended periods of hanging around the neighborhood, neither working nor going to school becoming more and more socially acceptable.
    1. Since productive activity not making any economic sense because of the work disincentives of the welfare plantation, other kinds of activities proliferate: drug and alcohol abuse, crime, recreational sex, illegitimacy, and family breakup are the new social norms, as does the culture of violence.

The single, solitary aim of the Liberal tax-and-give-away program is to accrue votes.
The trend we have of greater and greater inequality and less upward Mobility started with Reagan tax rates giveaway to the rich and screwing everyone else. It won't change until Democrats get a landslide.

1. " ...greater and greater inequality and less upward Mobility ..."
It takes an immense lack of understanding of the purpose of government to believe (I almost said 'think') that government is responsible to alter this.

2. "... individuals move between income categories all the time. If someone who makes $70,000 a year and sells their $200,000 house in a given year, the snapshot of that given year will show much higher income. The same goes for a wealthy investor whose income could drop after losing a large investment. These categories create the illusion that those who fill each bracket actually remain fixed there each year."

There is no poverty in this nation.

1. There is no poverty, no need for you to fork over a third or more of your income to the bosses.
Not the sham perpetuated by the Left to manipulate the soft-hearted/soft-headed to vote Democrat. I mean actual poverty.

Here’s the real definition, not one that is based on some folks having a slightly smaller house than you, or only a 50inch TV….

No Home, No Heat, No Food…..real poverty. If there is such a category in America, it is no more than a rounding error.

2.But, according to the Liberal mentality, poverty is having a smaller flat screen TV than you have, or one bedroom less in their home…..maybe not as shiny hubcaps on their cars.

Check this out:

The following are facts about persons defined as "poor" by the Census Bureau, taken from various government reports:

  • Forty-three percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.
  • Eighty percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.
  • Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person.
  • The average poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)
  • Nearly three-quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars.
  • Ninety-seven percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions.
  • Seventy-eight percent have a VCR or DVD player; 62 percent have cable or satellite TV reception.
  • Eighty-nine percent own microwave ovens, more than half have a stereo, and more than a third have an automatic dishwasher.
As a group, America's poor are far from being chronically undernourished. The average consumption of protein, vitamins, and minerals is virtually the same for poor and middle-class children and, in most cases, is well above recommended norms. Poor children actually consume more meat than do higher-income children and have average protein intakes 100 percent above recommended levels. Most poor children today are, in fact, supernourished and grow up to be, on average, one inch taller and 10 pounds heavier than the GIs who stormed the beaches of Normandy in World War II. How Poor Are America's Poor? Examining the "Plague" of Poverty in America

Now don't make that mistake again.

Take the blinders off, dope.
California now has the fifth largest economy in the world and its growth rate the last five years has been 50% higher than the average.

Yet it has the highest poverty rate in the nation...
Only if you factor in the price of housing, dumbasses. California has basically the best economy in the United States, you stupid pieces of crap LOL.

"Only if" is your agreement that California, the Liberal paradise, has the highest poverty rate in the nation.

The witness is excused.

As generous as I am, my present today for our Democrat voters, is to remove any necessity for that hand-wringing, or living in that crisis-mode your masters keep you in.

Democrat voters….be prepared to be shocked: there is neither racism nor poverty in this country!
Yup…you’ve been double-lied to….and you bought it like it was on sale.

The thread will concentrate on the latter lie.

There's no poverty, you have no need to either prepare to step over dead bodies due to starvation.....nor to ever vote Democrat again.

2. If you have cable TV….you’re not poor.

3. If you don’t clip the coupons and shop at several grocery stores for the best prices….you know you’re not really poor.

4. If you live in the city, and you have a car….you’re not poor.

5.If you spend more time signing up for government welfare programs rather than looking for creative ways to make some money,….you’re not poor- there are other words to describe you, and they aren't compliments.

You are poor???
Here....let me help:

Some plans if you need some extra bucks: (When Money is Tight, These 9 Resources Can Help You)

6. Make a Little Extra Money While You Watch TV
Surveys aren’t the quickest way to make money, but they’re a great way to cash in on your downtime and pad your pockets for the next rainy day. Fill them out while you’re watching TV, riding the bus or waiting in line.

One survey site we love is called InboxDollars. It offers several short, daily surveys. You earn cash, so you don’t have to worry about exchanging points. It also offers more ways to earn, such as watching videos, playing scratch-off games and searching the internet.

Bonus: You’ll get a free $5 just for signing up!

7. Sell Your Stuff
When you’re short on cash, look to the back of your closet and in the depths of your attic or basement. You’ll almost certainly find a bunch of stuff you don’t use anymore.

A lot of people see this clutter and start plotting a garage sale to earn extra money. The prospect is tempting — but a garage sale might not be worth your time.

Try some alternatives, like selling your stuff online or in town to earn more money with less hassle than hosting a full-blown garage sale. Apps like Letgo and Decluttr make it super easy to sell your stuff without sitting in the front yard and dealing with strangers all day.

I guess she has never been poor or traveled to the back roads of parts of West Vir, or Ky, La, Miss, Ark,. There are poor people who live on the edge of death in some cases. Some have to trap and hunt to eat during the year. Just where do you think the Goodwill stuff is bought at. Been to the streets of Detroit, or Bedlan. Bet you see the streets from the Interstate hwys. You talk about something you never saw. or lived in.

There is no poverty in this nation.

1. There is no poverty, no need for you to fork over a third or more of your income to the bosses.
Not the sham perpetuated by the Left to manipulate the soft-hearted/soft-headed to vote Democrat. I mean actual poverty.

Lol this is so stupid.

1) If you don’t get enough calories from food per day and can’t afford the food groups per day, you are poor.

2) If you own a TV you’re still poor because a fucking TV is a one time expense.

3) If you have kids and can only find a low wage, full time job, you are poor. Most people working full time are still poor because rejection wage they make is way behind on the rate of inflation .

4) You are poor if health insurance companies deny you life-saving treatments because you can’t afford it. Any poor person with cancer or heart disease are completely fucked because the long term treatment is astronomical in price. All an emergency room visit can do is keep you alive for the day. After that you die somewhere else. The same goes for kids whose parents simply can’t afford thousands of dollars in treatments regardless of how hard they would try to cut other expenses out of their lives.

5) And sure, poor people do spend money on entertainment. God forbid they entertain themselves! What are they thinking? Eat, sleep, work and die is all they need out of life!

Just because being homeless is more poor, it doesn’t mean it is the only measure of poverty.

1. Show me where anything I have posted isn't true.

The only way there is poverty in this nation is if you make up a bogus definition of poverty.

Control of the language allows the Liberals to inject a Charles Dickens image of poverty...., complete with orphanages and poor houses.

It is false, as I have proven throughout this thread.”

Stick with an accurate definition....no home, no heat, no food.....and it doesn't exist.

Yes...if those poor people would only pick themselves up by their bootstraps, work harder, accept the pay of a Chinese laborer they would no longer be poor.
