What is Dr. Fauci up to?

Trump is not used to dealing with someone who does not give a rat's ass if he is fired, or not. Fauci is way more credible than Trump, and Trump knows it. I predict that he will not fire Fauci. He will just keep him away from the press. Trump knows that Fauci's firing would discredit himself even more.
It doesn't look like Trump is "keeping Fauci away from the press"
Fauci was interviewed on three cable news shows last night.
Fauci is a scientist who is simply following scientific principles. Trump is only saying that there "may be or may be not a treatment to cure the virus we'll see". He is holding out some hope. That's a good approach when millions of people are shit scared to take a breath in public.

Actually, Trump is not saying that at all. Trump is saying that the virus will miraculously disappear with warm weather, that it kills fewer than auto accident, that anybody wants a test can have one, that the government has already ordered tons of medication that will treat it, and at least 20 other lies on the subject.

nope, if you wish to quote the president then use quotation marks. post what he said in quotes.

Fauci is a virologist, not an economist. His job is to assess risk from virus, not from economic hardship.
Trump’s job is to weigh the two against each other.
At this point, reopening the economy is a no-brainer.

Because we don't have enough dead people yet. When we do should we close again?
Do we have enough dead from flu? Is 30,000 enough?
If this year was the first year we were affected by the flu, then yes, we would be freaking out. However, we've lived with the flu for long enough to know what to expect, and we have built up our medical infrastructure to accommodate cases of flu every year.

the amount of flu deaths compared to COVID 19 will seem like nothing

When did flu deaths overwhelm our healthcare system?

Stop comparing this to the flu. There will be over one million deaths from COVID 19 this year. How many people do you think died of the flu in Italy during the time people started dying from COVID 19 there?
600 US deaths from Wuhan, zero children; 30,000 US deaths from flu, 150 children.

And? COVID 19 is expected to be the cause of roughly half of the deaths this year, but hey you seem to think you know more about this virus than the scientists. Good luck with that.
Half of what deaths?

so it will be more than 50,000 deaths due to the flu? hly shit, you know this how?

BTW, you should go buy a lottery ticket, you know the one you know the winning numbers to.

That’s what the experts whom have done the modeling are predicting. Why do you thing we’re turning cruise ships and stadiums into hospitals? The death rate for this virus is already 13 times the death rate of the flu and is much more contagious of an illness, so it would it would behoove you to stop talking about the flu. Things are going to get real bad. I’m not saying it to be political. I don’t care about politics. This is a humanitarian crisis, and you clear don’t understand the scope.
