Sure, legal immigrants might be largely the elite of their countries, but what about illegal immigrants?

Oh, and that doesn't mean that legal, or illegal immigration don't cause problem?

Both groups have been documented to have some issues.

I.E Legal immigrants are more likely to be on welfare, while Illegal immigrants are less likely to pay taxes.

Both groups put pressures on the system, be it schools (Especially since most immigrants have more kids)

That doesn't even begin to speak of some of the gangs, or the undermined wages cut down to size by immigrants willing to work cheaper.

Actually, my perception is that most racists are people like you. You don't see individuals, and you want to classify everyone into groups so you can attack large groups of people at once. And, if the history of my ancestors are typical, America was made great by people who came here from places where laws were selectively enforced (royals exempt for the laws everyone else had to follow), so they would not have supported ignoring people who broke the law. Selective enforcement was an anathema to them.
