What Would Be So Awful About Overturning Roe v. Wade & Saving Unborn Children's Lives?

Leftists would be pissed that they no longer could abort their babies.

The "threat" as usual is: :aargh::aargh::aargh:

What exactly would be so awful or terrible about overturning Roe v. Wade, allowing the states to resume control over the issue, and saving thousands or tens of thousands of unborn babies' lives?

Roe v. Wade was based on junk science, junk law, and on the myth of an epidemic of "back alley abortions." Legalized elective abortion is far more of a stain on our nation's history than slavery was. The number of babies killed by abortion dwarfs the number of slaves who were killed by abusive slaveholders.

If Roe v. Wade were overturned, state governments would retake control of the issue. Some states would legalize all abortion except partial-birth abortion (which is illegal under federal law). Other states would place significant restrictions on abortion. And some states would ban most or all abortions. Undoubtedly, thousands or tens of thousands of babies would be saved from abortion.

If women were really determined to kill their babies for their own convenience (i.e., elective abortion), they could always go to a state where elective abortion were legal.

One aspect of the effect of making abortion illegal is that we are now an abortion based economy & society.

Before abortion was made legal, people got married young - often times in their teens. Women would start having babies at an early age. This is how it had been since the beginning of time. This was possible because in most societies any young man that was willing do do a hard day's labor could bring home enough money to house, feed and clothe a family.

Since abortion has been legal, the level of education and job skills needed to support a family has sky rocketed. It now takes 2 college educated people to live a middle-class life - and then to have only 2 to 3 children. Young people know that they can not afford a family until their mid to late twenties.

This means that young women must have abortions or be condemned to a life of poverty. For all we say that we are 'Pro-choice', in fact economic realities dictate that young women DO NOT have any choice - they HAVE to get abortions.

Perhaps if Conservatives would support increasing salaries and wages to the point that young people could afford to have families again, making abortion illegal would be economically feasible.

But until that happens, making abortion illegal will cause a socio-economic disaster on a massive scale.

Of course, Conservative's beloved cognitive dissonance will blind them to this reality.
The love of money over human beings eh ?? Got it... You didn't know that poor kid that grew up to be a millionaire did ya ??

Are you truly that simple? Hundreds of thousands of people living in poverty because one in ten thousands may succeed?

Republicans should actually take responsibility for their actions instead of just preaching.

Cognitive dissonance is awfully convenient, isn't it?
Everything is really that simple until the Demon-crats or whoever else wants to try and complicate something with "it depends on what the definition of is, is"...... People see right through the bullcrap now, so keep on making fools of yourselves.

The fact that you think that everything is simple proves that you are simple.

NOTHING is simple. Everything has complex repercussions. Concepts like 'cause and effect' and 'Action and Reaction' are apparently beyond you.

Of course it's easy for you to ignore the effects of what you promote. You apparently do not want to take responsibility for your actions at all.

I'm anti-abortion, but I think thru the repercussions of making abortion illegal and want our society and government to be ready to take on the responsibilities for what will happen before considering ever making it illegal again.

You're anti-abortion, but you advocate keeping the killing going until the two parties come to a consensus on how to stop it ???

Good grief... Hold your breath until that time comes ok.

I was kind of impressed by how he talks about babies being born instead of killed as some sort of sinister, scary catastrophe we have to approach with great caution and fear.

"Think through the repercussions of making abortion illegal." Yeah, um, fewer dead babies? Yeah, really gotta think hard about whether we want THAT. :eusa_eh:

"Be ready to take on the responsibilities for what will happen before considering ever making it illegal again." I just heard, "Don't even THINK about not killing millions of babies a year unless you're ready to Nanny us all from cradle to grave!"

I think all leftists should abort. Think of it as pest control.

End commie left bullshit. Keep abortion.

I think ending abortions would be awful for quite a few conservatives who rely on abortion as a major election year bitching point.

Aborting a child is not murder. If you had a dictionary you would understand that.

Sure, and owning a slave was not immoral. You bet.

Many or most of the people who support legalized convenience abortion don't want children and will never have children, and, according to a number of surveys, the vast majority of them do not attend church. So it's no shock that they deny that abortion is any kind of homicide or even manslaughter.

False equivalency is the province of the ignorant. We arent talking about morality. We are talking about legality.

Democrats' support of abortion disproves their propaganda that they have compassion for the powerless and marginalized.

It's pretty much the only thing left for them to feel self-righteous about.

Not "denial"; recognition.

Leftists just Loooove them some advanced European socialist nations, so we should at least do what they do: we should limit abortions to 12-14 weeks. We are one of the few nations in all the world that allows abortion right through all nine months of pregnancy, which is barbaric.

I'm against abortion at any stage of pregnancy, but if we could at least limit it to the first trimester, it would be a start. What say you, liberals? Like Europe does.

Some people seem to be pretending that putting a woman's choice about her reproduction above the state's right to decide for her is "leftist".
Ridiculous.

Some people avidly avoid admitting throwing her legs open and getting knocked up is the reproductive choice, and refuse to acknowledge that abortion is just murdering the kid after the choice, not 'reproductive choice'.

The U.S., unlike other countries, has never had an intelligent conversation between adults about the problems that people face with the prospect of an unwanted pregnancy. Problems with a pregnancy that is wanted but during which medical problems arise is a different matter.

Unwanted pregnancy is an issue with a huge portion of our population, and the denial of this fact in the U.S. is ridiculous. There is always some baboon in front of a microphone in the U.S. advocating "abstinence" or putting an aspirin between one's legs, pushing some stupid ideology on us, but no real discussion as to how we can face this problem as a society. There is an obsession about sex in this country, particularly women and sex, that prevents us from facing this problem of unwanted pregnancy, even though tackling this problem and providing access to technology designed to prevent unwanted pregnancy would lessen the chance that an abortion will occur. It's a fact that heterosexual couples do not want to start a pregnancy every time that they have sex. People have sex for other reasons and we all know that.

An intelligent discussion about this problem I hope would involve heterosexual men, as well. They are involved and I doubt that any man who has heterosexual intercourse at any time in his life and with any woman would want to be a father all of the time and have this particular woman as his child's mother. Also, there have been many cases in which a man is distraught and angered to find that he has started a pregnancy and somehow blames the woman whom he slept with voluntarily, in a few cases to the point of murdering her.

An intelligent conversation among intelligent adults about unwanted pregnancy and adult sexuality is long overdue in this country. This takes serious men and serious women.

Here is an example of yet another idiot who just can't admit how pregnancies happen and the real choice made that results in the pregnancy in the first place. It assumes women should be mindless and stupid, incapable of self-control, and then the 'logic' goes on to then claim these very same mindless women somehow incapable of exerting self-control suddenly become capable of making decisions involving the murder of the baby, almost always because of mere 'inconvenience'.

And, then the cognitively dissonant inane screed ends with some hilarious call for 'intelligent conversation and babbling about 'being serious n stuff!' lol lol lol yeah sure. Sorry, but we know how women get pregnant, and the 100% sure fire way of avoiding 'unwanted pregnancies', and it doesn't require killing babies at all.

Picaro: what are you resisting? A serious conversation among adults? Is this thought somehow offensive to you? This is the problem with right-wingers. They refuse to engage with other people. So-called "round table" talks are called for. If you have a viewpoint, come to the table and present it, and stand before the public.
