What Would Conservatives Like as the GOP Platform?

Specifying time to respond on a messageboard is the primordial ooze of debate.

This is a complex question, and unlike yourself, we dont copypasta whatever drivel we can look up on PROGRESSIVERAGBLOGOFTHEWEEK and then reference incessantly to it.

This may take time to think up.

30+ minutes?

Again I dont hemmorage insipid drivel like you are capable of. I also use these posts as mental breaks during work, so yes, there can be time for a response.

Eliminate the EPA.

Democrats think they can make Texas a swing state by doing this.
Obama EPA kills power plant, 3,900 jobs in Texas | WashingtonExaminer.com

Chase Power, the parent company behind the $3 billion Las Brisas coal power plant in Corpus Christi, Texas, announced yesterday that it was cancelling the project.

“Chase Power … has opted to suspend efforts to further permit the facility and is seeking alternative investors as part of a plan of dissolution for the parent company,” Chase CEO Dave Freysinger told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

Freysinger made it very clear who was responsible for the projects death. “The (Las Brisas Energy Center) is a victim of EPA’s concerted effort to stifle solid-fuel energy facilities in the U.S., including EPA’s carbon-permitting requirements and EPA’s New Source Performance Standards for new power plants,” he said.

Yea, here in Ohio, we recently had a big solar power project abondoned by AEP because our PUCO director (appointed by Kasich) doesn't believe in global warming. According to his face book posts or something. So we lost the jobs, the technology and the clean power. All because Kasich is beholden to the coal industry.

Up in Ontario, Canada, they are ready to close their last coal fired generator plant one year ahead of schedule. Here in Ohio we still generate 85% of our electric with coal fired plants.

Fuk the enviornment, jobs and clean energy. Who the hell needs those things. Not us. We are the macho nation. We will shoot anyone who messes with our oil and coal. Get rid of the EPA, all they did was keep us from turing our water sources into sewage pits and make our air breathable again. Fuk em.

Since you'd like to see this as the platform, I assume you're confident a GOP candidate could successfully sell this package to the electorate?

.

Oh, and a free cell phone

Doesnt matter what the platform is if they dont bother following through with it.

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what your country owes you for voting Democrat

Put Social Security into the stock market.

Voucher Medicare down to 10 bucks.

Dig more caves. We will need a place to live.

Don't you sleep in a sleeping bag on the living room floor of that trailer? Since you don't own the trailer, isn't that a kind of "socialism"? It's more comfortable than that car you own that doesn't run. But that's OK. It was out of gas anyway.

But don't worry. That food you eat doesn't count, even though it was paid for with food stamps, they weren't your food stamps.

Openly an embracing a system with a 100% guaranteed fail rate, and thinking, "No, this time, it'll work!" Well that's some kind ignorant

He's right.

The GObP/Rs haven't been able to do anything. NOTHING. No "governing". No jobs bills, no economic growth bills, nothing. ZERO.

The only thing they have said they want is to make Obama a one term president and because they seem to spend their time being on vacation and lying about it or just playing golf, they failed miserably at that.

All they have is name calling and lying about the other side. Sadly, the dupes slurp it up.

What a perfect description of the last .... hmmm .... how many losing elections for the R.

First and foremost - get back to the constitution.
Bring our strength up by getting out of the job of policing the world.
Protect our borders and get the illegals out of the country regardless of nationality.
Reduce government involvement in everything.
Get back to the job of defending and protecting the rights of the individual.

Here is the G5000 Party platform:

1. Ban all tax expenditures. This would allow tax rates to be lowered considerably, and would remove a large part of the incentive for special interests to provide campaign cash to incumbents to sneak a tax break into the tax code. And this would cause the playing field to be leveled in elections without "campaign finance reforms" that never work, and it would reduce the current 98 percent re-election rate of incumbents which matches that of the USSR's Politiburo.

2. Eliminate income and property taxes and replace them with consumption taxes. The more you tax something, the less of it you get. So taxes on production, such as income taxes, are just plain stupid. We need the Fair Tax. This would bring EVERYONE into the taxpayer tent. You want the federal government to provide you with free puppies? Fine. We'll just raise the Fair Tax from 22 to 23 percent, and bite into everyone's income a little more to accommodate your wish. Let's see how THAT flies!

3. Raise the Medicare and Social Security eligibility ages to 72, and index them to life expectancy or 9 percent of the population. We are living far longer than our ancestors, we should be working longer.

4. Repeal the FSMA and CFMA and restore the power to the states to prosecute bank fraud. Regulatory capture is easier when all regulatory power is bottlenecked at the federal level. The states need to have their regulatory power returned to them.

5. Ban naked credit default swaps. Require all other credit default swaps to be regulated exactly like insurance. Require all derivatives to be traded on public exchanges so there can be honest and open price discovery. Only actual end users are to be exempt from insurance premiums on the exchanges. This would eliminate most of the high financial fraud which occurs today. For that which would persist, beef up the SEC and send fraudsters to federal pound me in the ass prison for life. Restore the "crime does not pay" axiom with swift and sure punishment.

6. Remove the federal government from marriage as much as possible. In those cases where it is unavoidable, like Social Security survivor benefits, ensure gay marriages are equally protected under the law.

7. Stop registering and regulating guns, and start registering and regulating gun buyers. Run the system exactly the way the voter registration system is run. The onus of the accuracy of the authorized gun buyer registration should be on the government and not the people since the government is the one that wants to control guns. Once you register to vote and pass the residential and citizenship requirements, you can vote or not vote. Once you register to be a gun buyer and pass the requirements of sanity and good citizenship, you can buy or not buy guns, and as many as you like without having to register them. When you buy a gun, the seller just verifies you are on the approved list of buyers. The management and exercising of your voting rights and gun rights should be identical.

I have many more planks but that should suffice for now.

It only fails when Republicans run it. That much is clear.

You forgot a part.

Except when it comes to women's rights, gay rights, civil rights, worker's rights, freedom from religion.......and so on. There, fixed it!

*** Please note: This thread is not a commie conspiracy. It is a serious and sincere request for opinion only. I am not telling the gop what to do. I am not telling the tea party what to do. If you don't have an answer, that's okay. And again, this is not a commie conspiracy. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your calm, mature, civil and rational responses ***

Many conservatives on this board are strongly opposed to the idea that the Republican party needs to moderate somewhat if it's going to see success in future elections. So this is your opportunity to get specific about what you, in your heart of hearts, would like to see the Republicans run on in 2014, 2016, and in the future.

So here's a list of topics to start with, and what I currently perceive to be what these people would like to see all Republican candidates run on. I certainly could be wrong, and I'm throwing out some numbers where I'm not sure, so I invite corrections, as well as your calm, civil, mature opinion and input:

Top Marginal Income Tax Rates
  • Personal: 20%
  • Corporate: 0%

Spending
  • Increase military spending by 15% annually ongoing
  • Cut entitlement spending by 10% annually ongoing
  • Eliminate the Department of Commerce
  • Eliminate the Department of Education
  • Eliminate the Department of Energy
  • Eliminate the Department of Housing & Urban Development
  • Eliminate the Department of the Interior

Abortion
  • Constitutional Amendment banning abortion

Gay Rights
  • Reversal of any and all gay marriage laws
  • Possible Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage

Gun Law
  • No changes to existing legislation, no bans

That's a start. Please add items as you wish. And it would be great if you could discuss how you feel voters would react to each item.

Let's get specific.

.

If you keep putting abortion and gay marriage in to the platform as priorities you're never going to get the center vote.

People who aren't hard right don't want gay marriage and abortion banned.

For god's sake, compromise on those positions for now for the more important ones that you can get on the same page with the indies.
