Where are the Ideas and Policies from the USMB Republicans?

If the Republicans really believed that, why haven't they done anything to shrink government when they've had chances to do so?

Because the Republican Party, like the Democrats, have been corrupted by the Progressive wings of the party. It doesn't matter if we have a majority for Republicans if a fraction are progressive and vote with Democrats despite having a majority.

There are alot of progressives posing as conservatives because they know where the base of the party is. It's also why alot of conservatives have been staying home from elections.

I really dont know why this is difficult to understand.

Yes, and even when the GOP is unified sufficiently to do something right - and that DOES happen now and then - their ideas/initiatives/requests/proposals/bills are squashed by the liberals in the opposing party.

For example:

The House has now passed, with a substantial majority that includes some Democrats, at least 20 bills that would help create jobs and help get the economy moving.

So far Harry Reid has not allowed a single one of those bills out of committee to be debated, much less voted on, by the Senate.

The House has now passed at least 20 bills revoking Obamacare, something that has broad support now among the American people.

So ar Harry Reid has not allowed a single one of those bills out of committee to be debated, much less voted on, by the Senate.

The House did its job and sent a debt ceiling proposal to the Senate where that too died in committee and never was allowed any debate time.

And as a result, Congress has now left on their extended summer vacations leaving their work undone and the American people hanging with the uncertainty of what is going to happen, unable to make plans, unable to do much of anything while the economy sputters in neutral or reverse.

Where are the Democrats' plans?

here is an idea

The GOP should give Obama everything he wants with great fanfare, but with strong reservations.

Then when Obama's ideas turn to shit say" we told you so"

Three pages and the OP's question is not answered. Not unless you count doing away with stuff and saying no to stuff as ideas. There are plenty of Republicans with great ideas, but they have been muzzeled by the T-party. If they open their mouths thay are attacked by the far right. Look at what they are doing the Christy right now. He isn't far right enough and does to much of that pragmatic stuff, so the right goes after him. But he has Republican ideas. Good ones. Ones that would get Democrat votes. The folks that post here aren't old fashioned Repub's. They are t partiers who hijacked the Republican party and are in the process of destroying it. The t party suffers the same fate. They have been hijacked by the lunatic fringe and the miserable haters. The loosers and dregs of our society have found a home.

HEY IDIOT!!!
PLEASE ANSWER this solution refuting the FACTS IF YOU CAN!!!

HERE IS THE SOLUTION!!!
First stop using the number "46 million uninsured"!
There have NEVER been 46 million that want and are legally eligible for insurance!
1) 18 million of the "46 million" don't want health insurance as they are under 34, make over $50k and spend less then their employer share!
source: CRISIS OF THE UNINSURED: 2009

2) 14 million that say they are uninsured DON"T KNOW they are covered by Medicaid!
http://coverageforall.org/pdf/BC-BS_Uninsured-America.pdf

3) 10 million ARE NOT citizens!!!
source:Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2009 - Income & Wealth - Newsroom - U.S. Census Bureau

So there is really less the 4 million that need and want coverage so WHY destroy the health system for the rest of the 99% of Americans?

2ND.. Recognize what doctors surveyed they do and don't forget under law THAT can't make a profit from their ordering duplicate tests, or
referrals... 90% of physicians say they order $850 billion a year in wasted duplicate tests, referrals all out of FEAR of being SUED!
Health News Observer ? Physicians Estimate The Cost Of Defensive Medicine In Us At 650 To 850 Bill Articles

3RD Recognize Obamacare taxed tanning salons because of skin cancer!
4TH Recognize that lawyers file lawsuits that physicians fear and therefore CAUSE the $850 billion in duplicate tests, etc.
5TH Tax lawyers 10% like tanning salons and use that to:
6TH pay a $5,000 premium for each of the 4 million truly uninsured!
7th The when hospitals see this "uninsured" they register and send claims to the insurance company AND NOT pad and pass sometimes at a 6,000% markup to Medicare/insurance companies...again adding to the costs!

There is the solution!
Admit there are less the 4 million!
Tax lawyers $200 billion a year at 10%
Use the $20 billion to cover the 4 million truly uninsured.

DON"T destroy health care for the rest of us!

NOW PLEASE REFUTE ANY of these points OK... Check out the sources OK... THEN tell me this isn't a great solution!!!

PLEASE REFUTE or shut the f..k UP!!! YOU and your ilk have NOT done anything to help America but everything to tear it down!

So I'm looking at the USMB threads and once again, there are endless threads about Obama being a socialist or not an American. Every story more outrageous than the one before it.

And nowhere are there any threads about what Republicans think they could do to "help" this country. To create jobs. To improve our infrastructure. Is there anything they don't want to tear down?

Perhaps the Republicans don’t see government as the solution to every problem; as Ronald Reagan said “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'” To help the country and create jobs, maybe the answer is simply get out of the way and let the system work.

George Will put it rather succinctly:

Let me just say this. The Republican Party is being told to be the party of no. No more stimulus spending. No cap-and-trade. No card check. None of this other stuff. Gridlock is not an American problem. It's an American achievement. The framers of our Constitution didn't want an efficient government; they wanted a safe government. To which end they filled it with slowing and blocking mechanisms. Three branches of government, two branches of the legislative branch, veto, veto override, supermajority, judicial review....What I'm saying...is that when we have gridlock, the system is working.

Amen brother....you want gridlock...or you want the Magic Neeeeeeegro running your life?

The negation of a negative is a positive.

Being ANTI- Obama is to BE pro-American.

To undo the damage that the moron in chief has inflicted and is still inflicting on America is a VERY positive step.

Post the damage President Obama has inflicted!

Allegations unsupported by evidence suggest this: The author's motivation is self serving and likely malicious.

You -- being the blind, ignorant, dishonest and foolish partisan hack you are -- don't recognize anything of the damage that moron has inflicted, so you won't be educated by a litany of all the things he has undermined or damaged anyway.

But start with the debt and deficit.

In case you haven't yet figured it out, we are in dire peril. His devotion and dedication to increasing the debt is not actually much mitigated when he merely acquiesces into lowering how much FURTHER we go into debt every year.

Proceed to his undermining of the protection of citizens who own security (when he meddles with capitalism by inflicting government ownership of the auto industry, for example). Consider:
In the Chrysler case, however, creditors who held the company's secured bonds were steamrolled into accepting 29 cents on the dollar for their loans. Meanwhile, the underfunded pension plans of the United Auto Workers — unsecured creditors, but possessed of better political connections — received more than 40 cents on the dollar.

Or course, as that same piece noted, the President ALSO used TARP in a way which almost certainly violated the law. Undermining the RULE of Law is damaging to our country. Consider:
. . . [T]he use of TARP funds to bail out GM and Chrysler most likely violated the law. The Troubled Asset Relief Program authorized the secretary of the Treasury "to purchase...troubled assets from any financial institution, on such terms and conditions as are determined by the Secretary"; the law also gave the Treasury secretary power "to take such actions as the Secretary deems necessary to carry out the authorities" in the legislation. As Boston University law professor Gary Lawson noted in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy last year, the boundaries set on the use of these funds were so vague and so loose as to produce something approaching a slush fund for the Treasury. And yet, loose as it was, the TARP legislation did not permit the use of the allotted funds to bail out automakers. The car companies, after all, were not "financial institutions."

Obamacare. Take the medical service providing industries. We may have had some delivery problems, but overall, the "system" (it was never really a "system," the use of that word is just a shorthand) we had provided medical service which others would have loved to have. Emperor Obama meddles and gets it done (with the use of a Congress too stupid to even know what was in the bill, because they had to wait to pass it to find out what was in it) and the ramifications are reverberating to this moment. He will eventually HAVE to permit it to be scrapped. And it will be. It has to be.

Obama is a clusterfuck.

Then look at our stature in the world.

BEFORE Obambam, they all fucking hated us. NOW? They all hate us even more and they act out on it with more regularity. Obambam was the one who was going to solve this problem (not to mention to reduce the Earth's fever and lower the water levels). He --what's that word again -- not only "failed" (yes, that's the word), he made matters WORSE. Who the FUCK "respects" a vacillating pussy leader like The ONE?

exactly, the irony of this thread is hilarious

rdean's threads are virtually all about complaining about republicans, not how to help this country

you notice how no one on the left will ever say anything about Dean and his sometimes outrageous claims he makes?....its like they are scared of the guy or something....

Until you mentioned it I don't recall anyone on the right saying anything about Warrior, Rabbi, Matthew, ShootSpeeders or a dozen or more outrageous posters. Of course I doubt their scared of them, they likely agree with them.
is that like how you and the lefties in this thread feel about Dean?......i get told by "Lefties" here i am wrong and they dont agree with the shit he throws out there......yet i have never seen those same ones ever disagree with the guy...no matter what he says.....i have seen quit a few Moderate righties here tell Shootspeeders what an ass he is......i have seen quit a few righties here tell Matthew he is a bigot......do you agree with all the shit Dean says about Republicans Wry?.....

Well, I'd say they have done a better job than Democrats. You're aware, I'm sure, that spending originates in the House? And that situations sometimes demand that responsible legislators spend more, especially in war or emergency?

2511622_370.jpg

President Clinton had the lucky combination of a time of peace, a Republican controlled House of Representatives and a booming economy, including the gains from internet stock insanities. Since all spending bills originate in the House of Representatives, credit for the budget surplus could more fairly be given to Speaker Newt Gingrich and the “Contract with America” than President Clinton.

Pres. Bush had been in office less than 9 months when the cowardly 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center occurred. Blaming Bush for the deficits that followed is akin to blaming Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) for the sudden increase in federal spending after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The chart above shows the deficit when each party was in control of the House of Representatives. Democrats are blue while the Republicans are red. The graph indicates a clear trend. Since 1974 – the year the budget process began to implode – the Republicans controlled the House for 12 years and the Democrats 24 years.

In 8 of the 12 years the Republicans controlled the spending, the deficit went down the following year and the 4 years it went up were all in the years immediately after the 9-11 attack. Despite the huge blow to the economy and the expenses of fighting two wars, deficit spending peaked in 2004 and was declining sharply until the Democrats regained control of the House in 2007.

Meanwhile, in 18 of the 24 years the Democrats controlled the federal purse strings, the deficit rose the following year.

Atlas Shrugged has as much to do with reality as Lord of the Rings.

You just proved my point, the left don't get it.

Yes.

People don't get replacing fantasy with reality.

See?

Like the REALITY of the AUTHOR of Atlas Shrugs going on Social Security.

Remember that?

What part of Mandatory (forced) don't you get?
She was forced to pay into it and was forced to take it.

where are your threads with ideas to help the Country?.....instead everything is ....lets find something i can rag on Republicans about....like this thread.....

that's the whole problem out there. the whole socialist/collectivist bullshit in one phrase.

why do you think we need to help "the country"?

everybody would be much better off - and the country as well - if everybody would just concentrate on helping THEMSELVES FIRST.

you, libtards, are really mentally challenged

im a Libtard?....ask Dean what he thinks about that.....

First any ideas or polices suggested by the right would be rejected and I have seen no ideas or policies suggested by the board left outside of spend more and raise taxes on the rich of you have something besides that I'm sure we're all anxious to hear it.

I think the best way to describe them is "Anti" - They are anti pretty much everything that has or is happening

The ideas they have can be described as "fantasy" - Their ideas consist of things that will never happen. i.e. Paying only taxes you like, Charities acting in place of Govt, Asking teachers to teach creationism, Shopping around for Healthcare, etc

Fantasy?
Never mind that all of the above has worked for 197 years in this nation.
It is the far left liberal ideas for the last 40 years that is bringing us down and is a Fantasy.

All of the above have worked for what now? When was creationism taught in 1776?

The word Creationism did not exist until Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
He and the people who were for his theory used it in correspondence and they called them creationists.

In Colonial Schools Nearly every child who attended any school faced a regimen of study, memorization, and recitation, which was essential in learning religious truths as well as the alphabet or the rules of grammar and multiplication.

Yup, whatever positive happens, Obama and the Democrats get credit for it. And if it doesn't fly or produces any negative consequences, it was Bush and the Republicans' fault. :)

As for that one idea Obama has had--to raise taxes on the rich--why didn't that happen when he had a veto proof congress. It never came up did it, even though that was something he campaigned on in 2008. So now that he knows it has no chance to make it out of a more fiscally conservative House, it is his constant drumbeat.

Obama is currently on his 17th--count them--17th!!! job creation speech campaign, and the ONLY new idea he has added to the mix is the frequently reoccuring phrase "phony scandals". So how are all those job creating ideas working out for you President Obama? There are millions more people who want to work who aren't working now than there were when you took office five years ago.

And that doesn't even take into account the number of folks who have watched their wages decline, their personal net worths decline, and who have joined the ranks of the underemployed because their employers are gradually cutting hours to avoid the impending requirements of Obamacare.

Isn't it time to admit the game plan has not worked, is not working, and won't work? How many more years will your adoring public allow you to blame Bush and the Republicans for your own inability to get anything done? Your own lack of ideas that work? Your own incompetence in promoting an effective policy?

The Republicans have been putting ideas out there and each one has been rebuffed by Obama and the Democrats.

So where are their ideas that work?

If the Republicans really believed that, why haven't they done anything to shrink government when they've had chances to do so?

40 years, hardly, more like 100 years. Thank you mr wilson.

They’re still obsessed with ‘Obama.’

Many on the right still don’t want to take any proactive steps to speed up the economic recovery for fear it will ‘help Obama.’ Most understand they won’t be able to ‘get rid of Obama,’ but are working just as hard to ‘destroy his legacy.’

And you still have a good number of partisan extremists on the right who blindly adhere to the fantasy that Obama could be ‘impeached’ and ‘convicted’ in the Senate of something, anything…

Hence the right’s efforts to contrive ‘scandals’ and ‘controversies’ where none exist.

Last, it’s just a fact that conservative dogma is completely devoid of new ideas and policies – they’re completely immobilized by their do-nothing doctrine; all they can do is criticize, offering no constructive solutions.

40 years, hardly, more like 100 years. Thank you mr wilson.

You have to go back a bit further than Wilson. It started with Teddy Roosevelt. Wilson just double downed on it after Roosevelt stood the Constitution on its head, FDR gave the snowball a huge push, and by mid century, we no longer had much left of the government the Founders gave us. It has been feeding itself ever since and each year becomes more bloated, more all emcompassing and authoritarian, and more self serving. It swallows up the huge lion's share of the people's money it takes in just to sustain itself and doles the rest out in a way to ensure that we will continue to feed and grow it.

So hee's a novel idea. Why don't we just bust it back to its pre-Teddy Roosevelt constitutional roots? I say this as a registered Republican so there's a Republican idea to work with.
