And nowhere are there any threads about what Republicans think they could do to "help" this country. To create jobs. To improve our infrastructure. Is there anything they don't want to tear down?

You mean "invest in rebuilding American infrastructure, including technical schools, Jr. Colleges and Universities. Provide guidance to students. Go after the million robots companies are building in China. Robots can run anywhere. They will need technicians, engineers and programmers.

That's just a tiny bit of what I've said in the past. I know. They are all stupid ideas. Republicans have better ones, but they are keeping them a secret in case a Republican president is elected.

Many on the right still don’t want to take any proactive steps to speed up the economic recovery for fear it will ‘help Obama.’ Most understand they won’t be able to ‘get rid of Obama,’ but are working just as hard to ‘destroy his legacy.’

And you still have a good number of partisan extremists on the right who blindly adhere to the fantasy that Obama could be ‘impeached’ and ‘convicted’ in the Senate of something, anything…

Hence the right’s efforts to contrive ‘scandals’ and ‘controversies’ where none exist.

Last, it’s just a fact that conservative dogma is completely devoid of new ideas and policies – they’re completely immobilized by their do-nothing doctrine; all they can do is criticize, offering no constructive solutions.

Rdean - I have filled this board with solutions. If you want the simple answer, it is this: get the government the fuck out of our lives, out of the economy, and out of our way. Force them to adhere to the U.S. Constitution - the highest law in the land which they have violated in every way imaginable.

If you want more in depth, complex answers, HERE are literally volumes and volumes of policies that will solve the problem. Enjoy.

I didn't give a "snarky" response (unlike what you have done). And I wasn't rude to RDean either. I answered his question thoroughly and honestly (complete with a link to literally endless volumes of in depth policy research).

The sad part is, none of you will admit that liberal policies are failed policies (despite endless evidence) and thus even examine alternate policy. You're on the Obama train and you are hell bent on riding it to the bitter end - right until it crashes into the brick wall and kills you all. You have to go back a bit further than Wilson. It started with Teddy Roosevelt. Wilson just double downed on it after Roosevelt stood the Constitution on its head, FDR gave the snowball a huge push, and by mid century, we no longer had much left of the government the Founders gave us. It has been feeding itself ever since and each year becomes more bloated, more all emcompassing and authoritarian, and more self serving. It swallows up the huge lion's share of the people's money it takes in just to sustain itself and doles the rest out in a way to ensure that we will continue to feed and grow it.

So hee's a novel idea. Why don't we just bust it back to its pre-Teddy Roosevelt constitutional roots? I say this as a registered Republican so there's a Republican idea to work with.

So since they didn't do that with the first trillion dollars above and over the budget they spent--even though they said they would--what makes you confident that they mean it if we give them another trillion above and over the budget they won't pass?

This is, without a doubt, the most disingenuous, humiliating, and pathetic talking point by the left. I firmly believe that liberals do not even know what it means. All they know is "investing" and "infrastructure" sounds like corporate buzz words and they want to feel smart.

There is simply no real "infrastructure" that we need to "invest" in. Bullet trains? Zero demand for them (and should be handled by the private sector if/when demand ever comes to fruition). Roads? Perfectly drivable all over the U.S. already. Bridges? A local issue to be addressed by local taxes. I've yet to have a liberal give me ONE single accurate account of what "infrastructure" needs "investing".

Bottom line, I know I can't take a liberal seriously when they start with "we need to invest in infrastructure". If you want to know what that actually means to a liberal, take a look at this:

As an independent voter, I have been a Republican and a Democrat, and frankly I have little interest in either party. However, you are being a bit unfair to Republicans. In Google there are many links to the Republican Platform, or the Republican agenda. I thought this one was particularly interesting. What I find interesting about Democrats is this impractical "Everything for everyone" concept they push. I think of it as "Vote for us, and you will get some freebee." Republicans are just as bad with "Get off your ass and take care of yourself." This does not work either because some people are not capable, such as the disabled or those with learning disabilities.

Our nation is going down the crapper. I would like to mention the former signature of our own SFCOllie whom I gave rep points to for this signature.
