Where are the Ideas and Policies from the USMB Republicans?

So I'm looking at the USMB threads and once again, there are endless threads about Obama being a socialist or not an American. Every story more outrageous than the one before it.

And nowhere are there any threads about what Republicans think they could do to "help" this country. To create jobs. To improve our infrastructure. Is there anything they don't want to tear down?

As an independent voter, I have been a Republican and a Democrat, and frankly I have little interest in either party. However, you are being a bit unfair to Republicans. In Google there are many links to the Republican Platform, or the Republican agenda. I thought this one was particularly interesting. What I find interesting about Democrats is this impractical "Everything for everyone" concept they push. I think of it as "Vote for us, and you will get some freebee." Republicans are just as bad with "Get off your ass and take care of yourself." This does not work either because some people are not capable, such as the disabled or those with learning disabilities.

Our nation is going down the crapper. I would like to mention the former signature of our own SFCOllie whom I gave rep points to for this signature. It said, "America is a country founded by geniuses, and run by idiots." I Googled the quote and found it was the words of comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Kudos, Ollie and Foxworthy.

Show me ONE single problem - any time, any where - that the liberal did not pitch government as the solution?

Force them to adhere to the U.S. Constitution - the highest law in the land which they have violated in every way imaginable.

This is, without a doubt, the most disingenuous, humiliating, and pathetic talking point by the left. I firmly believe that liberals do not even know what it means. All they know is "investing" and "infrastructure" sounds like corporate buzz words and they want to feel smart.

There is simply no real "infrastructure" that we need to "invest" in. Bullet trains? Zero demand for them (and should be handled by the private sector if/when demand ever comes to fruition). Roads? Perfectly drivable all over the U.S. already. Bridges? A local issue to be addressed by local taxes. I've yet to have a liberal give me ONE single accurate account of what "infrastructure" needs "investing".

Bottom line, I know I can't take a liberal seriously when they start with "we need to invest in infrastructure". If you want to know what that actually means to a liberal, take a look at this:

This is limited Republican thinking. That "infrastructure" is only bridges and trains when it's actually everything from education to energy to sewers to, well, everything. And they are so limited in imagination, they think everything is "fine".

Take nuclear power. I believe that nuclear power and the waste is one nut scientists can crack. Our plants are dying. No one is replacing even the scientists. Republicans say they think nuclear power is a good idea, but they think scientists are lazy, most work for the government and science is a faith. What right winger wants to go into science with everyone he knows telling him that? And that's just one thing.

If they can't come up with any ideas, they attack. And so far, the only one I've seen is "let business run wild". That really worked out well at the end of Bush's second term.

What country in the world does not invest in infrastucture? When did it become the task of local governments to build bridges and roads without help from the fed's? Don't we use a fuel tax to help pay for those things? Since we have already invested in much of our infrastucture with a commitment to help maintain those investments, how to we now change our minds and disregard our commitments?
Why should we stop being a great nation that does great things? Will we ever do great things again? Will we ever build a Hoover Dam or have a TVA that built many of them? Will we ever have a space program that developes amazing technology and lands men on the moon? Will we ever create anything like rail system or interstate road system? Will we ever do great things again? America is a nation in decline. If we do not do great things and maintain the great things generations gave us in the past, we will continue to decline. If thinking like the above post is accepted, we squander what has been given to us and damn our future developement. It's like cashing in your investments and burning the cash or just throwing it away. It's the ultimate "I got mine, screw the rest of you" greedy attitude. Give me what grandpa left us because I'm gonna spend it and grandpa's grand children and great grand children aren't going to get any of it. I'm gonna spend it all on me. If grandpa knew what these greedy kids were doing he would have cut them out of the will.
