I find it highly unlikely it is taught in Public Schools , allthough anything is possible - it is taught as an alternative theory at theso called "higher" institutions of indoctrination ....er ... I mean Learning .

Thats not a history book used in public schools. Show me one that is used to educate our children.

Segregation is alive and well. Why don't we just accept it and move on?

It's amazing how skin color does seem to matter sometimes... But it's always a leftiest that thinks so.

You never see a Conservative claiming that someone can't do a job because of their skin color.

Touche'

The concept of White Guilt , and minority victimization is a common theme perpetrated on students at all levels of the educational system. One prime example is an American Diversity class taught at many schools , but one that made the News was at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin. The students are basically taught if you are white, you are oppressing. If you are non white, you have been a victim. Young Americas Foundation staff member Brendan Pringle, labeled the course as race-baiting. ... ............... Paid Resident advisers are on staff, at public expense of course, to facilitate the students on their path to indoctrination and reinforce predetermined conclusions, in support of Liberal-Progressive ideology. Resident advisers are somewhat reminiscent of the Party commissar of that last great "failed social experiment" Russian Communism. To qualify as a Resident Adviser, you must be thoroughly indoctrinated in the racist, feminist, sexist, socialist, class-warfare ideology of Liberal Progressivism.

Liberal Bias in Academia

The bolded:

Its like some of you guys dont even care what the information is. All someone has to do is package it for you in little easy to use labels and its legitimate. So much conservative news or blogs start with a "how to feel" headline and you fall right into it.

I can see them writing this story saying "We need more "ists"! Racist, Sexist AND Feminists etc etc"

Unfrigging believable.

Well one thing, maybe now this White Liberal Professor is on the receiving end of what he's been teaching he'll understand the damage he's done.

Fresno Black Leaders Oppose White Cultural Studies Teacher | The Daily Caller

Black community leaders in Fresno, Calif., are urging the Fresno Unified School District to re-evaluate the hiring of a white guy to teach three cultural studies courses at a brand-new middle school that will overwhelmingly serve minority students.

Rutherford B. Gaston Middle School — named after the city’s first black principal — will open in a few short weeks. It’s the first middle school in the immediate, poverty-ridden vicinity since 1979.

The protesters are unhappy because the school has chosen to hire Peter Beck, a person with white skin, over other, unidentified candidates, The Fresno Bee reports.

Beck will teach African-American studies, Latino studies and Southeast Asian studies.

::::

“We’re just saying what the community wants,” said Rev. Karen Crozier, one of the activists. “We didn’t fight for a white male or female teacher to educate our babies.”

Crozier, who appears to be a professor at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, also suggested that a white person cannot teach minority children in this instance because of racism.

Let me understand your post, just so that you don't come off as stupid.

YouTube-screenshot-thefresnobee.jpg

On Monday morning, a small band of activists showed up in front of the sparkling new school at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Church Avenue.

So 3 or 4 malcontents staged a protest and you are attempting to suggest that Black people and/or Liberals are taking to the streets to protest this White Teacher???

However, this Black Man wholly supports this teacher:

School district trustee Cal Johnson, who represents southwest Fresno, and who is himself a black man, robustly endorsed the hiring of Beck.

“I do not believe colorism trumps qualifications,” Johnson told the Bee. “I don’t care whether it’s white, whether it’s black, brown or yellow.”

Strange, seems the Black guy sees past the color that you can't.

What damage has the White Guy done, let's hear your inspirational opinion??

Leave it to Asclepias, and next he'll be claiming Africans were first on the moon. :D

You are confused. Green bean brought that up. He is right but the document he is using has nothing to do with the first people to the Americas.

Then you didn't read it - but it was posted as light humor - so don't take it out of context, as there is no indication it is being taught in Public Schools [Yet] .

Personally I think it is counter productive and perpetuates racism for there to be 'black studies' and 'Asian studies' and 'Middle Eastern studies' etc. THAT is what everybody should be protesting and not the color of skin of the teacher. Generations of us grew up immersed in American and World History and Ancient History and all included a lot of education about the different races and their contributions to the whole of humanity.

But the emphasis back then was to promote pride and understanding of what it meant to be American and skin color had nothing to do with that.

Until the bleeding hearts out there get it through their thick skills that Martin Luther King Jr was right--we should focus on the content of a person's character and not on the color of his/her skin. . . .

We should be teaching and promoting that skin color is of no more importance than hair color or eye color. . .

And then and only then can we expect racism to begin to fade into a distant memory. All this focus and emphasis on race and ethnicity does nothing more than to separate people into groups, emphasize their differences, and keep racism alive and well. And unfortunately I am starting to believe that is the intent behind it.

Why would I need to read it? I know all about the Olmec's. I also know you meant it has humor. The only problem is that its true.

But I find it highly unlikely that would agree with the one about the Irish and Romans - why ? - because they're European and you are programmed to detract from all things Western

The lack of those studies is what perpetuates racism. The more you understand people the less effect racism has. That is if you understand the concept of simple respect.

MLK did not say to be colorblind. He said to not judge people based on color.

Racism will fade when people know more about the accomplishments of different ethnic groups and those same ethnic groups know what role their people played in history.

Why would I not agree about the Irish or Romans? I think many cultures came over to the Americas prior to Columbus. I think the problem is when whites are confronted with the facts Africans did the same thing without their help. For some reason all hell breaks lose.

Except for the Moslems ... you can't tell the truth about the Islamic contribution... such as being the originators of the last great wave of Slavery and one of the few places where it continues to this day --- can't insult the Moslems.... you are only allowed to insult Europeans ... Right Asclepias ?

Racism will fade away when racist rabble rousers, such as the asshats in the image submitted with the OP are put in their place.

I'm sure he just forgot to post the blacks who support the white guy by accident :doubt:

Why wouldnt you be able to tell the truth about Muslims? Thats a pretty dumb question. you do realize Muslim is not a race right? Racism will never fade by putting someone in their place. It will just go under ground and ferment. Education provided by people that know more than just facts is what is needed.
