Who here "thinks" that China will blink first in the trade wars?

Trump already rubbed Chinese noses in soybeans. Our soybean farmers will make more than ever.

You are so stupid it is almost scary you are allowed to vote.

If there was another market out there on a steady basis that would pay more, do you not think that our farmers would not have already been taking advantage of it?

This year for only the third time ever, more soybeans are planned to be planted than corn, meaning there will be more soybean than every to try and sell. Are you aware what happens when there is a surplus of supply and a shortage of buyers?

And the extended winter is going to make it even worse as people will end up planting beans where they were going to plant corn if they cannot get the corn in the ground soon.

You really think farmers are still going to plant the same amount of soybeans knowing what they know?

News flash: Crops are not in the ground yet, that is a necessary step to actually having soybeans.

Jesus you are stupid.

What do you think they are going to magically change the land to, tomatoes or green beans?

Grain farmer grow grain. They do not magically decided in April to become watermelon farmers.

If they plan on planting Soybeans it means they have already bought the seeds, if they do not use them they lose money and have to buy other seeds.

If they are planning on planting soybeans it means they have not prepared the land with nitrates and other Ferts necessary for corn or other grains.

If the weather does not change soon they will not even have the option to plant corn, so they will use the seeds they have.

Sorry for your ignorance but Europe is already buying our soybeans.

Your hope for the failure of our farmers is dashed from the beginning.

Yes they are, so who is going to pick up the market that is China since Europe already is? Do you think that if Europe was better market we would not have already replaced China with them? Do you think at all? Do you even have a brain or was it replaced by Trump's ass?

World consumption is world consumption. If China doesn't buy our soy beans they have to get them from someone else and we will sell to someone else. People don't stop eating because of tariffs. Do people really have this much difficulty connecting the dots?

Really?

Which country is the largest importer of soybeans? - China

What percent of those imports are American? 1/3

How does America recover that lost market share within the remaining market? - We don't. The rest of the market already has suppliers.

Why? - You said it yourself.
World consumption is world consumption.

Wouldn’t expect a dolt like yourself to understand. China needs the US to import its cheap slave made crap. They can’t do anything too damaging to us. If they dare dump their treasuries they hold, or try anything to massively weaken the US economy and dollar, they lose all that wealth, and all those factories close. Th US is still king of purchasing power, China is a paper tiger as all communist regimes are, and of course regressives like yourself are square in their corner

Your understand of world economics matches that of my parakeet.......Instead of just watching Fox and Friends, why don't you read what China has developed in trade with Africa, Europe, the middle east and,of course, what China will do, UNOPPOSED with the TPP rim?

For those who claim that Trump is "the greatest negotiator that ever walked the planet" (beside Trump himself, that is) the surprise will be very disappointing.

Trump has picked the wrong fight, using the worst tools at his disposal probably because of his hatred of Obama. If you really wanted to have China buckle to our demands of better trade balances, less currency manipulation and have China curtail the stealing of our intellectual properties, THEN the best method would have been to REJOIN the TPP accords.

China will purchase her needs for soy beans and corn from such other countries as Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Mexico ,Peru, etc.......and we can expect that China may abandon its purchases of Boeing air crafts, opting for Air Bus from European (mostly France) manufacturers.

Yes, China may currently need our exports, but we are NOT the only suppliers of the commodities that Chain needs.....and once other suppliers step up to service China's needs, what would ever make that country seek supplies from her arch economic "enemy," the U.S.?
No more republicans shopping at Wal-Mart

What I am hoping will happen- is that China will make some concession and Trump will declare victory and everyone will consider it a win.

That is the best case scenario.

Right now both Trump and China are thinking that they can 'win' a trade war.

Unfortunately 'winning' a trade war is like how France 'won' World War 1- no one is a real winner- there are only those who lose more badly.

Newsflash: That's lost revenue for American farmers.

China doesn't follow accords or treaties or much of any other international laws they do not like. Sign all the papers you want snowflake.

Don't make mountains out of mole hills. The tariffs are more luxury items than core nutrition. Wine, nuts, dried fruits. China is the world's largest producer of pork, at around tenfold American production.

The funniest thing on the board these days is when one of the hypocrites are whining about China and use their phone to post and you get that little note at the bottom..."sent from my Iphone"

It does seem as if voters should be required to take a simple multiple choice test regarding civics and logic that most 8th graders could pass.

That would weed out 67% of Trump voters. :)

Trump will get a better deal for Americans. And that's what it's all about. The Globalists threw American Workers overboard years ago. I truly believe Trump will work out a better deal for them.
OH BULLSHIT!

China holds 4.8% of the US debt. That's over $1 Trillion in US Treasury bonds they own with a promise to redeem on demand. All China has to do is threaten to cash in half of them and the US economy would go in the toilet along with our credit rating globally.

China holds the top hand and they could squash the Clown with ease IF they desired. China is in the process of raising it 11th Dynasty in world history and that fucking Orange Idiot will get run over by the Chinese juggernaut if he tries his stupid, supercilious bluff game the entire informed Universe is on to!!

I notice you're not mentioning anything about China's massive EXPORTS to us in the USA. This is where the real money cards are, and China doesn't have them. We do.

Our massive and wealthy MARKET is needed by China. No where else in te world is there a market like this. Why do you think China exports to as far away as can be (opposite side of the earth). They could ship much cheaper to closer places in Asia or Europe, but the markets comparable to the US aren't there.

We, with our unique MARKET, hold the high cards in this scenario, and Trump knows it. He's not going to blink, or flich one iota. Expect to see more tariffs being enacted, BIG time.

China exports to us 5 times as much as we export to them >> Bottom line is China needs us FAR MORE than we need them. We hardly need them at all.

With the TPP, China has cornered the Pacific rim markets (including Japan and Australia).....Further, China has massively expanded its exporting of goods to European and African markets.
