Who wins when the "I'm offended" game?

Non-believers claim they are offended when they see any representation of Cross on public land and demand that it is removed, even if it has been there for 100 years. The Courts rule it has to be removed.

In States where Open Carry is legal, anti-gun nuts call the police and claim that they are offended when they see someone exerting that right and the person carrying the gun gets a grilling and even arrested ( Causing a public disruption ) if they refuse to hide their gun. At the very least they are forced to ID themselves, often times get frisked, get a lecture on how they are a problem and the police want to know how long they will be in the area, where they are going etc. Often they are "escorted" back to their vehicle, minus their weapon, and told to go home and are then given back their firearm.

Women claim they are offended when they have men in the same gym, so the courts allow them to have public facilities that exclude men, yet the same women tell the courts they are offended that there are public facilities that exclude women, so the courts tell those facilities that they have accept women.

Minorities claim they are offended when they are excluded because of their minority membership, yet they also they claim they are offended that they don't have separate living and eating areas along with separate celebrations and parties along with special funding. They get everything they want.

A Christian gun owner claims they are offended by having to pay for abortions, birth control, and gay marriage. They are called bigots and told that they aren't "inclusive" enough or respectful of other people's "rights"

White, conservative, Christians who think they're persecuted.

I sucks that things have to be that way because a few nasty people abuse their freedoms and necessitate putting double standards in place, but the alternative is to basically refuse to protect a lot of people for the sake of a few assholes who do not know how to act in polite society.

Who wins the "I'm offended" game?

Those who yell the loudest, using the scariest rhetoric, who have the best lobbyists.

Of the people you listed, I'd say atheists who are offended by religious displays. At least the other groups can argue that it affects them negatively in some way. Seeing the Ten Commandments outside of a courthouse hurt your delicate sensibilities? Cry me a river.

Playing a victim has it's privileges - ask a Rabbi here, he will tell you that the chews have been playing victims for centuries, and I have to throw in some other examples just so I don't look like anti shimit - look at the gays - poor things are not allowed to marry; look at conservatives - always moaning on their international Fox News about how the media abuses them and favors liberals, even those conservatives who owe their careers because of the publicity of the media (and that includes, ooops, all of them) look at liberals - they want reparations, and all kinds of other stuff, and they are all abused and offended by conservatives. But on these boards it seems to me at least, that the biggest offender is Obama who abandoned the Israel.

I can understand why atheists are offended by the first four of the Ten Commandments. They atheists.

They are offended by the rest of the Ten Commandments, because they insist that it is nobody's right to tell them not to do the things they love doing and come naturally to them.

Incorrect.

The issue has nothing to do with ‘atheists,’ or being ‘offended’ by a religious display, it has to do with the fact that, given the circumstances, religious displays on public property at the behest of the state are in violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, as well as the Framers’ mandate that church and state remain separate (County of Allegheny v. ACLU Greater Pittsburgh Chapter (1989)).

The concern, therefore, is for the religious liberty of all Americans to practice their faith, or to enjoy being free from faith, absent interference by the state.

Which explains how little you know about constitutional law.

naaah black people, I mean they get every government program, affirmative action, and yet the left still sees racism everywhere, especially in one word, that blacks use more than anyone else......yeah, keeping on the plantation has always been the democrat objective.

You're crying because people who walk around brandishing a gun that they need a permit for to be legal might actually get asked by LAW ENFORCEMENT to show that permit?

lol.

You do understand the difference between "Brandishing" the term you used and "Open Carry" don't you? If not, I would highly recommend that you look them up.

Hint.... Brandishing is illegal everywhere.

I am going to fall back on my original and often disagreed with position here.. The case law is wrong here.

The 1st Amendment reads, in part, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,". Simply erecting something that has a religious connotation is not establishing a religion. Passing a law that says that "The Church of ( Fill in the blank ) is the official religion of the United States and all others are not." is establishing a Religion.

As long as all the religions are treated equally under the laws, given the same tax breaks as an example, there is not an establishment of a Religion.

The language is quite simple, the words are common words, and to read it any other way is, IMHO, simply wrong.

Intentionally wrong.
