Nothing unusual happened during last year's midterms. The House usually turns into the opposing party's hands during midterms.

In fact what was unusual was the midterms under Obama, when Republicans gained a majority not seen since WWII. What was also pathetic was Dems blowing their chance of gaining the Senate. Not only did they lose, but the republicans even gained a few seats. Now that was unusual.

The fed raised rates eight times in less then three years. The most in their history. Perhaps they needed to get a little less aggressive.

The Fed rate was raised 9 times between Sept., 1998 and May, 2000 (20 months). It was raised 17 times between June, 2004 and June 2006. Your 'most in history' bullshit is bullshit. To complete your tale of woe over the past three years, the Fed has reduced rates 3 times in the past 4 months. Also, the 2019 FY, ended Sept. 30, was passed by last year's GOP-controlled House and Senate.
