Before there was a federal law that protected people with pre-existing conditions....In most states, insurance companies could refuse to sell coverage, charge higher premiums, or offer bullshit plans to people with pre-existing conditions...

If your personal story about your wife was the norm -- why would you just admit earlier that keeping pre-existing condition protection is a good thing...why? According to your dumb ass, no one was being denied for pre-existing conditions...
