The fact is- and it is not an assumption- that all people who commit crimes do not need to be locked up awaiting trial. The fact is , that when done right, the people who get out without bail rarely commit new crimes and usually show up in court. The fact is that a cash bail sytem is racist and classist and it results in poor people rotting in jail while dangerous people buy their way out. Are you going to try to claim that those out on cash bail do not commit new crimes?
