Why the the left should NEVER try exploiting the Bible

You're a faux Christian. We all know it. That's part of being republican.

Pay little attention to Godless leftist heathens that quote scripture.

Nine of ten times they are in waaaaay over their heads

Yeah, that's what Jesus would say. Do you profess to be a Christian, "Patriot"?
Please point out in your Bible verse where Jesus ever mentions government. If you can't do that, point out where he says to force people to help at the barrel of a gun.

You're literally too stupid to realize that you are proving the premise of this thread for me!

Render unto Caeser ring a bell?

He also favored progressive taxation by insisting that the poor woman gave more than the rich man because she gave a greater share of her belongings to the church. And for the Jews in that time period, the church was, for all intents and purposes, the organization managing the welfare of the people (like the government today).

But who knows, maybe you're right, and Jesus would be pro-gun, pro free market, pro tax subsidies for digging up oil, etc. :cuckoo:

1. In the incident to which you are referring, Jesus was talking about the Temple, not the Church.
2. The nation of Israel was a theocracy, with laws and Scripture intermixed. The Church was never a nation or a government.

Well...you're half right GD. Jesus was pro-FREE WILL. The entire Bible made that very clear. He would be appalled by the left's idea of "helping" (stick a gun to other people's head and force them).

Frankly - I don't understand why we need government to help. Everywhere I look, I see nothing but bleeding heart liberals who care sooooooooooo much about their fellow man. I'm sure you forgo 6 out of 7 meals per week to make sure a family without food can eat - right GD? Who needs government with people like you, velvtacheeze, etc.? :dunno:

You are truly an idiot. Women have been aborting unwanted pregnancies for thousands of years, indisputably.
Now that you mention it - I do seem to remember reading about "Prehistoric Parenthood". They were abortion clinics which used the tails of the Stegosaurus to kill babies in the womb. :lmao:

Ancient Egypt abortion methods

According to Ebers Papyrus, an abortion could be induced with the use of a plant-fiber tampon coated with a compound that included honey and crushed dates. Subsequent herbal abortifacients included the long-extinct silphium. This silphium and one more pennyroyal were the most prized medicinal plants of the ancient world, sometimes used in today’s time to induce abortions. However, it is highly toxic and not considered safe.

Ancient Egypt Abortion: Methods, Techniques, Herbs for Birth Control

Ebers Papyrus is a preserved medical document from ancient Egypt, traced to about 1550 B.C.E. Longer and more complete than the Edwin Smith Papyrus, and about as old (the Edwin Smith Papyrus is dated to about 1600 B.C.E.), it is a collection of diverse medical texts that offers the most complete record of Egyptian medicine. It has been called the most important medical papyrus yet recovered (WNI 2008).

Gee P@triot...no response? Shocking...

"If a man will not work he shall not eat"

For it is written that the quote is out of context
...the quote in question came when a Christian "doomsday cult" arose who believed that the "end was nigh" and therefore said in effect : ""We do not need to work we are on our way to heaven..."

Therefore the words were for fully able men who Chose not to work...the Food Stamp program feeds the mentally ill,the disabled, veterans , unemployed folks and others who want to work but cannot ....
The Conservatives seek to tarnish anyone and everyone who receives nutrition assistance likening the Food stamp program to feeding feral animals in the wilderness

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. John Kenneth Galbraith

Conservatives are like a sepulcher...clean cool white marble on the outside ...moral death and moral decay on the inside ...

There's the stillness of death on a deathly unliving sea
And the motorcar magical world has long since ceased to be,
When the eve bitten apple returned to destroy the tree.
Incestuous ancestry's charabanc ride,
Spawning new millions throws the world on its side.
Supporting their farflung illusion, the national curse,
And those with no sandwiches please get off the bus.

and therefore Jesus took the loaves and the fish and multiplied them however he said everyone had to pee in a cup to make sure they were not on drugs and said they had to show three application for employment or else "go to hell".... he then turned water into wine and drank it with Paul Ryan in a fancy Golgotha Restaurant...wild wild stuff..

Let's see if we have this straight:

If we want the government to follow Jesus' teachings when crafting public policy, we're creating a theocracy, and that's bad.

-BUT-

If we don't want the government to follow Jesus' teachings when crafting public policy, we're mean and cruel, and that's bad.

-AND-

If we follow Jesus' teachings by caring for those in need on our own, but don't think the American constitution requires the American government to forcibly take money from citizens do the same, we're mean and cruel, and that's bad

Is that about the size of it?

When the Government forcibly takes our money to mass murder foreigners I think all Chistians can agree that "It is cool for the Government to take our money for killing and destruction"

It is when the Government takes our money to help the disabled the ill the unemployed the traumatized Veterans that ALL GOOD CHRISTIANS have an Issue

Kill the Poor...that is about the size of it

Which do you want, a theocratic government that enforces Jesus' teachings or one that doesn't?

This is not a "zero sum" situation.....it does not take a "theocratic Government" to assist the poor the disabled the single parent the mentally ill ...it is your effort to ..."search for a superior moral justification for selfishness. "

The Budget Item below is all good eh

Cost of War in Iraq & Afghanistan

That we can legitimately discuss. The problem comes when "liberals" chastise "conservatives" because they're not following the teachings of Jesus, but have no intentions whatsoever to actually have the government so legislate.

Jesus didn't tell governments how to act, He told His Church how to act.

So, then, based on your argument, there is no Christian mandate to make abortion illegal.

So there's no Christian mandate to outlaw abortion. You're saying that even if Jesus Christ personally opposed abortion, since he was 'pro-FREE WILL'

he would never support using the government to punish anyone from choosing an abortion?

are you sure about that??

lol

And He runs His government according to His will and His timetable. Remember this?

"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."

For now, we don't have Christ ruling the earth.

Huh?

How could a dead guy tell a church how to act when there weren't christians or christian churches when he was alive?

Didn't Christ effectively mandate the death penalty for anyone who would not believe in him?

...so whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life... or however that goes?
