Why was Jesus crucified?​

This is the question of this thread. Simply answered, for the sins of the world. This is what Jesus said to a Pharisee named Nicodemus:

John 3
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

So, what does God deem to be evil deeds that defile people? This is Jesus speaking again:

No, I'm not Jewish. Jesus' preachings and proclamations were undermining the authority of the Roman Emperor. The real ruler up in heaven instead of in Rome was a no no. Even though the Romans were clearly the stronger force they still didn't like the possibility of some uprising or revolt to deal with.

Jesus did in fact claim to be the Messiah, and took that claim all the way to the cruel Cross of crucifixion. To save Himself, Jesus could have recanted at anytime; but even in the face of horrible pain and suffering, He did not recant. How precious Jesus is!

If you don't have any real ideas what you try to speak about - why do you try to do it? The Christian religion made suddenly totally clear what the ancient Greek traditions - including the Roman traditions - always tried to speak about. It was like a soft rain which brought a new blooming of life and spirit. The deep sadness of the ancient Greek culture (="It's better never to be born") ended. Why do you like to stay in this sadness? Sit down - take a good book - start to learn. I'm sure from all points of life into all directions of this universe is a way to find god. But perhaps all of this ways are not so easy to see and to go - even if it is easy to see this ways and to go this ways.
