"The Lebanese civilian death toll is difficult to pinpoint as most published figures, including those released by the Lebanese government, do not distinguish between civilians and Hezbollah combatants.[21]Israel started this fight in 1948 when 650,000 mostly recent immigrants from Europe inflicted an ethnocracy on twice as many non-Jews in Palestine. Israel deliberately targeted civilians and infrastructure in 2006 fully expecting to reach the Litani River before "agreeing" to a ceasefire. Hezbollah stopped the IDF in its treads, and Jews left Lebanon with their tails between their legs.Israel's moderation might have kept them from a decisive one two punch but the damage to Lebanon was minimal. Roads, bridges, infrastructure have been rebuilt better than before. Israel could easily have bombed Lebanon back into the stone age, but didn't. They carefully disabled only what they needed to.
Hezbullah brought on the fight, goading Israel. Israel handicapped itself in an attempt to spare Lebanon excessive destruction.
Except of course for those 1,200 dead Lebanese. But of course, what's a few dead people if it placates your insensate Jew hatreds.
"In addition, Hezbollah fighters can be difficult to identify as many do not wear military uniforms.[21]
"However, it has been widely reported that the majority of the Lebanese killed were civilians, and UNICEF estimated that 30% of Lebanese killed were children under the age of 13."
