The Indiana law is basically a duplicate of the federal RFRA, and joins more than a dozen other states with similar laws. It is not a grant to discriminate, it offers a defense.

My son's scout troop (years ago) was sponsored by our church. We had the right to turn away anybody we chose to as long as it conformed to the Boy Scout guidelines. We never turned anybody away but we reserved the right to do it and we sure as hell did not need the friggin government telling us how to run our operation.

This rearguard action will not stand, and it won't be long before the nation looks back at the "religious freedom" laws and the voter ID laws and wonders how it was possible that a party could espouse such nonsense.
