U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman is leaving as head of the powerful Southern District of New York, Attorney General William Barr announced late Friday. The Manhattan office is one of the nation’s mightiest districts, trying major cases against the mobsters, terrorists — and allies of President Donald Trump, including his personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

But Berman issued his own statement following Barr’s announcement, saying that he is not resigning and has “no intention of resigning my position.”

Barr’s announcement Friday came just days after allegations by Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton that the president sought to block a Southern District probe into the Turkish Halkbank in a bid to cut deals with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Barr announced Berman’s departure in a press release. He said that Trump has nominated the current chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Jay Clayton — who has virtually no experience as a prosecutor — to replace him.

While I admire your idealism that justice will prevail, I am aware that sometimes it doesn't. Sometime justice can be like a $hit sandwich, exactly 2 inches thick from top to bottom of bread slices. The more bread you got, the less $shit you got to take.

For years I have said that justice in America is the person who has the most money to buy the best lawyer, wins.

So if he succeeds in stoping the federal investigation, that won't make his problems go away.

If he's not reelected he will be facing a lot of legal problems both state and federal. Biden has already pledged that he won't pardon trump or any of his people and won't stop any investigation into trump's crimes.

If he's reelected, the federal investigations can stop for the 4 years but after that, if a democrat takes office in 2025, the investigations and prosecutions will start.

So we're back to, it's just going to delay the inevitable.

If tRump is re-elected it is likely he will not live to see the end of the 2nd term. I mean the physical specimen that he is and all.

His father made it to 93. Look at Cheney (gold standard of right wing assholes) 79 years old now, similar build, with a history or Heart problems, including 5 heart attacks since age 37 and a 30 year three pack a day smoking habit.
