With Our Victory Of Roe Being Overturned, Next Target--Same Sex Marriage!

Same sex marriage would not be a POLITICAL issue if not for the fact that our state and federal governments have gotten deeply involved in the institution by bestowing countless cash and prizes to married people.

If the government was not involved in marriage, then same sex marriage would be strictly between the individuals involved.

But because the government IS involved by bestowing these benefits by law, then the 14th Amendment's "equal protection of the laws" is in play.

Clarence Thomas blatantly omitted any mention of Loving v. Virginia in this recent decision for two reasons.

One, he's married to a white woman.

But more importantly, he excluded Loving in his opinion because the Loving decision stated you could not ban interracial marriage without a rational basis for doing so.

And he knows this. He knows a ban on same sex marriage has no legal led to stand on.

Well, most progressives already called that the god fearing judges would want to revisit all these rulings.
A two year old with a sense of proportion could see that coming.

Just cements the fact that the SC is useless. It is, and has always been a tool of conservatives to force their religious and moral value system on the majority.

The backlash on these rulings will be fun to watch. :)
What a tasty mouthful of sour grapes that was! :auiqs.jpg:

Nope. The government is not party to the marriage contract.
Excuse me while I explode your massive ignorance:

Ask a lawyer... The government isn't party to the marriage contract.

And Justice Clarence Thomas concurs. This degeneracy must end. It should be outlawed. God forbids it!

Roe v. Wade is very different from Same Sex marriage. Overturning Roe v. Wade saved lives of unwanted children.

Same sex marriage simply extended marriage rights to all consenting adult.

Your God forbids it? Then you should avoid it.

But your God forbidding it has no bearing on the secular laws of the United State of America. And it has no affect on you at all.

Banning abortion is pretty goddamned radical and they are just getting started.
Calm yourself, as an adult in the room. They did not ban abortion. They just removed court legislated protections as a constitutional issue, same as when they made them up to put them in but now put it in the hands of the states. Are you pregnant? Are you even female? Calm yourself. You are in public.

Um...retard? Did you not notice Trump lost the election?

Trump's a big, fat loser.

You have to go all the way back to Hoover to find a president who lost the Senate, the House, and the Presidency.

He lost the popular vote. TWICE.

The list of incumbents who have lost re-election is very short, and Trump's on it.

He's the only president to have been impeached TWICE.

The guy who beat him is someone he called the “the worst presidential candidate in the history of presidential politics.” :auiqs.jpg:

This is a loser who said he would balance the budget "very quickly". He said he would replace Obamacare. He said he would pass an infrastructure bill.

The big beautiful southern wall Mexico would pay for? He got 80 miles of new fencing done, and we're still waiting on that check.

He WIDENED the trade gap with Mexico and China to record levels. His trade war was a colossal disaster, and he said it would be "easy to win".

He hired the biggest crowd of crooks since Harding. He overflowed the swamp with indictments, convictions, scandals, and embarrassments.

If it was up to this fucking idiot, we'd all be injecting ourselves with bleach.

His approval rating for his presidency was an average of 41 percent.

And ever since he lost re-election, he's attempted a coup, whines and lies, and whines and lies, and whines and lies, and whines and lies, and whines and lies.

The biggest sore loser baby. Ever.

Seriously. Why would anyone in their right mind want anything more to do with this total disaster?

You'd have to be one of the most submissive dumb fucks in the history of mankind to idolize this loser.

Nope. Federal law bestows all kinds of cash and prizes on married people, so the 14th Amendment applies.
Wrong. Minimum age, Blood tests or not, relatives, etc. Marriage is a state issue. You twits abuse that 14th Amendment. The 14th Amendment deals with ex slaves.

Probably for the same reason society frowned upon your own birther from smothering you with a pillow. While in hind sight… It was probably a great idea. But as precedent… There ARE more important people to think about…

If Congress passed a law giving every registered voter in America a "free" lollipop, but included a provision which denied lollipops to registered Republicans, that would be a violation of the 14th amendment.

If some dipshit then said "The government isn't party to the creating of lollipops and so the ban is okay", he would come across as massively ignorant.
