Machin is fairly right wing even for democrats. There are periodical calls within the DNC to basically oust him from the party over it. I remind such people he would win even bigger as a republican.

I am not a conservative. Manchin will probably be a safe seat for as long as he wants it. That is just the nature of West Virginia. The (R) or the (D) or even an (I) would be of little difference. He was there when the Sago mine deaths were revealed and fought to improve mine safety after that. He will be "good people" independent of the politics of the day.
