Sessions Address Don t Give Masters Of The Universe Their Amnesty - News Releases - Senator Jeff Sessions

A text of Sessions' remarks adapted for print follow:

“Earlier this week I spoke about the President's promise that he would issue an executive amnesty to 5 or 6 million people. The planned amnesty would include work permits, photo ID's, and Social Security numbers for millions of people who illegally entered the U.S., illegally overstayed their visas, or defrauded U.S. immigration authorities.

The Senate Democratic Conference has supported and enabled the President's unlawful actions and blocked every effort to stop them. Not even one of our Democratic colleagues has backed the House legislation that would stop this planned executive amnesty or demanded that Senator Reid bring it up for a vote. Every Senate Democrat is therefore the President's partner in his planned lawless acts.

Tonight I would like to talk about the influence of special interests on our nation's immigration system. How did we get to the point where elected officials, activist groups, the ACLU, and global CEOs are openly working to deny American workers the immigration protections to which they are legally entitled? How did we get to the point where the Democratic Party is prepared to nullify and wipe away the immigration laws of the United States of America?

Just yesterday Majority Leader Reid wrote in a tweet something that was shocking. He said: ‘Since House Republicans have failed to act on immigration, I know the President will. When he does, I hope he goes real big.’

Let this sink in for a moment. The Majority Leader of the Senate is bragging that he knows the President will circumvent Congress to issue executive amnesty to millions, and he is encouraging the President to ensure this amnesty includes as many people as possible. And the White House has acknowledged that 5 to 6 million is the number they are looking at.

Has one Senate Democrat stepped forward to reject Mr. Reid's statement? Has one Senate Democrat stepped forward to say: I support the legislation passed by the House of Representatives that would secure the border and block this executive amnesty? Have they ever said they support that? Have they ever said: I will do everything in my power to see that the House legislation gets a vote in the Senate so the American people can know what is going on? No. All we hear is silence.

It's fun to watch all of this "weeping" and "gnashing of teeth" going on by these assholes on the Left.

Like 12 year old's it's always "someone else's" fault, not theirs.

 and we will wait for 2016 and watch the GOP wither away like the flower from a thorn bush in early winter.

You have two years to hope for that, have fun.

"The public’s unfavorable view of the GOP, which is even greater thanthe disgust with Democrats, will likely keep the party from achieving a true sweep — and suggests the hard work ahead by the GOP in Congress and the eventual presidential nominee in 2016."

Ironically, the GOP is praying for low voter turnout and hoping apathy will rule the day. So, the GOP is more and more depending on either obstructing the right to vote or hoping that no one will vote. That is one of their last chances for survival.

Low voter turnout is the primary goal of voter ID laws.

I challenge you to prove such a claim.

Next some idiot is going to say that voter ID laws are all about fair and open elections.

There's no doubt that republicans will take the Senate – and a win is a win, regardless how it's achieved.

But the problem for most on the right is that they'll incorrectly infer that this is some sort of an 'endorsement' of republican policies, when in fact it is not. And republicans need to seriously consider the value and meaning of a victory in the context of low voter turnout, with those voting not representative of the Nation as a whole.

Democrats deserve to lose, no doubt – the consequence of their failure to get out the vote, and the propensity of most democrats to not vote during Midterms; but republicans will still have many problems they need to address, problems that will be too late to fix come 2016.

The GOP will have 2 years to prove themselves worthy of the votes of the American people.

If they continue to play obstructionist games they will pay a heavy price in 2016.

In essence this is their last and best chance to gain some credibility. I am not holding my breath given that Cruz, et al, will be grandstanding for the GOP nomination.
I'm registered as unaffiliated.
But, I'd rather have obstructionist activity than passage of bad law.
In my opinion, I would always prefer that the House and Senate were controlled by a party opposite of the President's party, regardless of the President's party.

DO NOT VOTE! (unless you are white, and or male, and or a 1%er, and or have forgotten how they screwed up the country last time)[/QUOTE]

They screwed it up so bad that we didn't have another Republican congress for 40 or more years, even DDE didn't like them but they had the ability to override all his vetoes, kind of explains all the time he spent on the golf course, it did the country and himself no good to be in the office.

What's really funny is that all the money spent for campaigning produces a near dead heat in the polls. If things are so bad why aren't Republicans doing better in the opinion polls? Doesn't exactly look like a sweeping mandate.

No doubt you can produce the incontrovertible evidence to the contrary.

Dude, it is a cycle. Don't get too excited. In 2016, the Dems will win the WH again and regain the Senate. Remember, if Texas goes blues....it is over for the GOP. What big state is left?

Texas is not turning blue. It's getting REDDER.

If all those excuses for what's already happening to Democrats in the early voting were bells....

They'd be returning them for warranty replacement 'cause they're cracked.

Which is why the left is pushing amnesty...............nothing to do with the immigrants or America.............It's all about the votes and everyone knows this..............and since illegals have a tendency to vote anyway...................no voter I.D.

Nothing new here.

Uh, we all knew the GOP would take this election some time ago.

The question is why we are not taking it with bigger numbers.

Why? The voters, while unhappy with BHO and the Dems, still are not convicted that the GOP is gotten rid of the obstructionists far righties. A lot of the TPM was eliminated in the primaries, yes, but we still have to deliver next Spring.

The earlier the better.

Of course what they fail to tell you is that almost every case of voter fraud has been through absentee ballots.
