The cops that were doing the beating most likely will get probation since it was a misdemeanor. Assault is consider as a misdemeanor. Unless it was done with a deadly weapon. But falsifying a police report can be charged as a felony. .
But if they lied, there isn't much that can be done about that. Unless they were under an oath in the courtroom.
There should be a law where those entrusted with protecting the community get tougher sentences for violating the public’s trust.
But they will be losing there jobs and benefits. You don't know how rough it is for someone that had high hopes on waiting for their retirement. All of their plans are going down the drain.
