3 stupid myths republicans believe

1) Tax cuts pay for themselves.

Wrong. Every dollar lost in revenue is one more dollar the government needs to borrow to pay their bills. It's so obnoxious when repubs complain of gov spending yet are too ignorant to realize tax cutting leads to more borrowing. You think over spending is the only reason for our debt? No, it is also because of Bush's tax cuts.

2) Liberals are socialists/communists

Also wrong. We are talking about fundamental definitions of words here. Saying liberals are socialists is just as stupid as saying conservatives are liberals.

3) The wealthy are not too wealthy.

95% of income gains have gone to the top 5% of earners despite the fact that the lower classes are responsible for most of the productivity. In fact, productivity has grown exponentially in the lower classes since the 30s yet wages have remained flat.

#4. Liberals are stupid, see 1, 2, 3 above.

And yet you can't explain what makes them stupid.

It would take too long and given your limited capacity to understand, it would be useless.
You already know what you are. A taker. A parasite. A group thinker.
All you people have are complaints. Other than to whine to government that you want them to 'make it all better', you have nothing.

Tax cuts done properly promote industry and jobs, so #1 is a lie.

By their beliefs and actions liberals/progressives/lefties or whatever you want to call them tend to be socialistic and communistic, so another lie by the OP.

The richer most people get in industry, the more jobs they help middle class with, so #3 is a stupid remark.

Extreme liberal thinking sucks!

Targeted tax cuts are taxes done properly, and promote economic activity; across the board tax cuts are disproportional and greatly benefit the few and not the many. The Democrats under Clinton and Obama have focused tax cut targeted to help the many, which in turn help the few as consumption of goods and services increases.

You argue that my beliefs tend to be socialistic or communistic, easy to say but you and others use such words as pejoratives for their emotional affect and have no basis in reality.

[If the PPACA were 'socialism' is would make all medical professionals employees of the government and outlaw insurance companies. It does none of those things].

Liberals think, that you find such activity dangerous is hysterical.

We've had 5 years of experience with targeted tax cuts. And the worst economic performance post war out of a recession. Those are not coincidental. Targeted tax cuts do not work, depending on how you want to define them. They become giveaways and gimmes. Like tax breaks for 2 years to buy new business equipement. It stimulates nothing except lost revenue to the Treasury.
Obamacare makes regulated utilities out of the insurance companies and effectively medical providers are their employees, since the insurance companies pay them. That is socialism.

Just by way of discussion

Three stupid myths democrats believe

1. Govt has a duty to levy taxes to make sure every individual citizen has economic security.

2. Republicans only care about themselves.

3. The rich have too much so society is better off if some is taken from them and given to others.

95% of income gains have gone to the top 5% of earners despite the fact that the lower classes are responsible for most of the productivity. In fact, productivity has grown exponentially in the lower classes since the 30s yet wages have remained flat.

1) They do pay for themselves. You see, if you have more people paying taxes on more economic activity you can actually make MORE money then you currently have. In fact, every time taxes are cut, the economy improves and the treasury brings more money in. It's called the Laffer Curve, look it up.

2) The leadership sure leans that way. Progressives called themselves progressives because they believe in progresing society towards socialism/communism step by step. Through evolution rather than revolution. When progressives were exposed in the 1920s, they scared the heck out of the population and so rebranded themselves as liberals, while traditional "liberal" viewpoints were adopted by conservatives and libertarians.

3) Who the heck are you to determine what too wealthy is? If someone is blessed more for his labor, why should I have a right to force him to pay for what I want to be done? Why should I be angry at my brother because of his success? Rather, I should rejoice in it. And persuade and encourage him to use his resources wisely. But how he ultimately uses it is between him and God. Why do you want to be a robber in your heart?

1) bullshit. Only 4.6 jobs were created per million dollar cut from Bush's tax cuts. Tax cuts for the wealthy only help the wealthy. All they do is stimulate supply. They do very little to stimulate demand. Only a con would think less revenue is a good thing.

2) typical fluff. Why do you bother?

3) so you think it is a good thing only the wealthy have seen income gains since the 30s?

Spouting off on what you 'believe' does not make it fact.
BTW, Bush 43 has not been president for quite some time. Last time I checked this was Obama's watch. The conditions we experience now are as a result of HIS policies.
And for your supply demand analysis, you'd have to stipulate that prices for consumer goods are that much lower. They are not.
Stop complaining and do something to help yourself.

There is absolutely NO economic study supporting that tax cuts ALWAYS create more growth than simply deficit spending, let alone that they ALWAYS pay for themselves. Repeating bs like this, doesn't help conservatism.

about one million more Americans were working in the Bush years then are working now.

true story

pretty comical; a left-wing idiot whining that the Bush tax cuts didn't create many jobs.
what did we get for the almost $1 trillion Obama Stimulus? do any of those jobs still exist?

be honest with your self leftard; do they still exist?

The financial crisis happened under Bush's watch. We lost 2.3 million jobs in his last few months. Millions more were lost until the The Recovery Act was implemented. Altogether, the stimulus created or saved 2.5 million jobs. Had it been bigger like it was meant to be, we would be out of this mess.

Ok, a credible non partisan source would be nice.
BTW, only 10% of the Stimulus actually went to the private sector.
The other went to unionized public employees. Few of which still have their jobs.
One trillion dollars in money we did not have all gone with no appreciable positive results.
The stimulus was a failure.

My fave is how they think that liberals are too much of pussies to fight terrorists, but NOT too much of pussies to pry the guns out of conservatives' cold, dead fingers and then bulldoze their corpses into a FEMA-camp mass grave.

You did not like paying less payroll tax?

The key to reducing the debt is to reduce spending. No one on either side of the aisle has the courage to address this. They are ALL too busy buying support with taxpayer money. The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is who they are making the checks out to.

If you think either party is "more" or "less" responsible for the debt, then you've just been sucked into the "blame game" that each party promotes in order to distract folks from the hard truth.

I will ask once again; do the Stimulus jobs still exist?

stimulus wasn't meant to be endless you LWNJs.

GOD what morons!
you don't believe in our system; you believe in welfare and food stamps and making people dependent on the government; and it shows; because that is exactly what we got right now

why do you fools on the Left act surprised we have record levels of what you believe in?

You seem to believe you know what others believe, and yet offer nothing as proof but your opinion, seemingly formed out of the air (AM Radio or Fox News).

BTW, the stimulus provided jobs and will continue to provide jobs well into the next century (unless the neo cons start a nuclear war). Highways 4, 80, and 24 are only three of several Bay Area Freeways which provide conveyance of goods and services to 8.5 million residents. Included in the stimulus were three major tunnel projects, a new section of the Bay Bridge (over a quarter of a million cars per day) and hundreds of interchanges, exits and entrances reconfigured to make them safer and more efficient.

A new subway system in SF as well as an extension of muni light rail to the SE section of The City and throughout SF huge building projects to the south of Downtown including UCSF (see links below) partially funded by the American recovery and reinvestment act and revenue sharing.

You couldn't be more wrong. Let me help you.... we believe that:

Obama farts fairy dust.
Obama loves all of us.
Obama is our bff.
Obama can part the seas.
Obama made everything all better in America.
Obama is the bestest president evaaaaaa

all of the sudden the Left is saying huge numbers of people actually dont want to work. they would be the first to soil themselves in a hissy fit if a Republican said that

idiots and hypocrites
Can you please stop making a complete idiot yourself? Or are you simply not capable of stopping yourself?

It's the Bureau of Labor Statistics making that claim. The BLS is not the "left." I'm just repeating their claim.

really?

oh good; show me where the BLS says all those people "dont want to work"

you can do it chump!!

and what was your number again? 94% or something?/

go for it!

You never learn, do you, rightard? Of course I can do it ...

Number of people not in the labor force: 92,534,000

Number of those who want a job now: 6,508,000

6.5 million out of 92.5 million is 93%. Sorry, I was off by 1 percentage point because I hadn't calculated the numbers since the latest figures have been released.

You may now crawl back under your rock, rightie.

Seriously, that's your proof?? Wow. You're even stupider than I thought. And that's saying something.

Please excuse Rabbi; he has never been socialized (and probably 'thinks' that comment means I've suggested he's not a socialist).

Totally brainwashed ^^^. The 'Laughter' curve is nothing more than an excuse for greed.

I'm not aware of any progressive organization calling for socialism, nor is socialism a gateway to communism; maybe a full brainwash wasn't necessary, a slight rinse was in all probability all that was necessary.

Too wealthy is when the 1% control the means of legislation, when laws benefit the few and not the many. CU v. FEC has taken weakened our democracy and moved us further toward oligarchical control.

As it is written, so it shall be: "The rich will despoil the earth, the air and the water"

ironic that the rich are getting much richer then they were before; and at a faster rate; under Progressive Majority rule isnt it?

but then again that is the whole point isnt it?

In my lifetime his statement rings true. And that's all that matters to my family & me.

Do you have some reasonable response? No, of course not. Silly me. You never do. You are as fact-free as Jake Starkey.

Who in the fuck cares what Joe Biden says? He's just another out-of-touch politician.
