According to TV news, "he" shot one person and then opened fire on a crowd.

That's all I heard.

A gunman shot and injured seven people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans early Sunday, police spokesman Frank Robertson said.

The victims have been taken to a local hospital.

One is in critical condition; the other six are in stable condition, Robertson said.

The block where the shooting occurred is a popular gathering place for tourists and revelers, where many of them pack bars and clubs.

Crowds often spill into the streets.

The scene is around the corner from other famed attractions, such as jazz concert venue Preservation Hall and the popular bar Pat O’Brien’s.

BFD. How many shot and killed in Chicago since Friday?

Why bring up Chicago, have you bought into what the rightwing media wants you to believe?
It's not much of a surprise that red states lead the way when it comes to gun violence - where there are more guns per capita, there is more gun violence per capita.

Heads up, Illinois ain't on the list.

Alot negros in NO and LA, makes sense.

States with high concentrations of minorities have high incidents of gun violence. This is about to get leagues worse. Gun control won't stop the killing. Nothing will stop the killing. Most of the time it's criminals killing one another. There's no reason to stop it.

New Orleans has been a violent city for a long time. Can't say I'm surprised.

Katrina actually took out some of the trash.

I wonder what the magic threshold number of dead people is necessary for a shooting to be newsworthy to conservatives?
All I know for sure is that it's obviously more than 26.

Nobody's blamed this on the Tea Party yet?

Slackers.
