The FDA has an approved process for fast tracking a vaccine and ensuring it is safe and effective. In fact, the FDA determined the benefits outweighed the risks, and authorized the vaccine for emergency use in December 2020.

The point is you're wrong on the fast track process .. Fauci was communicating concern with accelerating the delivery of a vaccine, and the vaccine went through the FDA fast-track process and was authorized for emergency use. That's just fact. Fauci's credibility throughout the COVID period was suspect, changed and was violated by Fauci himself (eg proper use of a mask).

Funding was split between public funding sources (about 58%), industry (about 27%) and private partnerships (about 15%).
