76% of GOP now 'conservative,' pick Cruz for 2016 nomination

So why would this poll surprise anyone?

Anyone who is far right or right of center is going to vote Republican. And no, it is not good news for Ted Cruz because anyone who is "somewhat conservative" is going to consider him to be a nut job and vote for a more moderate Republican

So it's 2016, Cruz is the nominee. Let's give him all the states Romney won, which is a stretch,

but anyway,

someone name the additional states that he could win in order to win the presidency.

So it’s 2016, the ACA has been in full effect for over a year and a half, there was no ‘train wreck,’ and millions of Americans have health insurance and access to healthcare for the first time.

And democrats play the faux filibuster over and over…

Making his chances near zero come the General Election.

Perhaps republicans running their ‘true conservative’ for president and having him soundly defeated in 2016 is the wakeup call the GOP needs to return to reality.

Green Eggs and Ham will make a great sound bite

Good news.

No, it is GREAT news! Cruz stands ZERO chance of becoming president.

Apparently there are many rightwing extremists who’d rather run a ‘true’ hard-core conservative such as Cruz and lose rather than having a ‘RINO’ in the WH.

Which is fine provided conservatives understand the GOP will slide even further into irrelevance.

And of course American society will continue to grow more enlightened, diverse, and inclusive, where the hate and ignorance manifested by most on the right will be marginalized even further, along with republicans and other aspects of social conservative dogma.

What are the Dem's going to do if Hillary decides not to run?
She might actually put her health before party. I think she would like to live to see grandbabies.

"Republicans originally thought that Fox worked for us and now we're discovering we work for Fox. And this balance here has been completely reversed. The thing that sustains a strong Fox network is the thing that undermines a strong Republican party."

Ray McGovern, a retired CIA agent whose expertise was the old Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc countries says the propaganda coming out of Fox News is at the same level as Pravda. But I suspect most Russians knew Pravda was propaganda.

A new PPP poll came out with these numbers. For those that don't know PPP is a D oriented polling company but are pretty accurate. They always are up front with their methodology which I respect. I don't have to go hunting for it.

And compared to the bullshit Gallup poll that libs were creaming themselves over yesterday, this poll is based on Republican primary voters, not a generic across the board poll of 18 to what evers.

This is specific. Thank you PPP for this. yay!

Eat dirt McCain and other RINO's!

This won’t surprise Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid or GOP old bull Sen. John McCain -- the largest chunk of the Republican Party is now very conservative.

According to a new PPP poll, which has Sen. Ted Cruz the top choice for the 2016 Republican nomination, those who describe themselves as “very conservative” make up 39 percent of the splintered party.

Add in those who consider themselves “somewhat conservative,” and the right-leaning voters comprise 76 percent of the party.:eusa_angel:

In the new poll of 743 Republican primary voters, 1 percent called themselves “very liberal,” 4 percent “somewhat liberal,” and just 18 percent as “moderate.”

Among the conservative voters, Cruz is the leading choice for the GOP nomination. He won 34 percent of that group.

But he also shows remarkable crossover as 32 percent of the “very liberal” crowd also prefer him.

His likely rival, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, wins just 4 percent of the “very conservative crowd” and 38 percent of the “very liberal” group.

Christ I hope this is true. Christmas comes early in 2016 if it is!!!!

Good news.

Absolutely. When Hilary mops the floor with him, we won't hear the usual whining about how he wasn't a "real" conservative.

C'mon Joe, there is an endless amount of excuses the GOP (Group of Perverse victimization) can draw upon...

Media bias
Moderator bias
Voter fraud
Voter ID fraud (that's next)
Crooked poll workers
IRS investigations
Their candidate "didn't really want it"
blah blah blah

The biggest problem for Cruz is he will split that conservative vote with Rand Paul. Paul, being a Paul, will refuse to concede until the bitter end blocking Cruz from any chance of winning the nomination

.

Running a pure Tea Party Conservative ticket would do more than clarify the validity of that movement; it would also do the same for Limbaugh and Hannity and Beck and Levin, all of whom are solidly pro-Tea Party.

One hell of a lot would be on the line for the Right with such a ticket. This is as good a time as any, do it and let's see how it goes. A very entertaining campaign, that would be.

so what you're saying is that 76% of the republican party is as crazy as Cruz ??? we already knew that ...

If he doesn't put Rand Paul on the ticket, it won't matter.

It won’t matter regardless who is on the ticket.
Kind of ARROGANT, aren't you? Just like yer boss Obama.

actually maybe a bit worse  .... :lmao:
