9% Congress - worn out from repealing ACA 40 times - takes another 1 month vacation

Sequester is Congresses baby and Congress' alone

They had a job to do. Reach consensus on spending cuts. They didn't even try

Not exactly factual. Believe what you will however.

PolitiFact | PolitiFact's guide to sequestration

Whose idea was it?

It was Obama’s idea, but Republicans agreed to it and provided key support.

The most detailed account on this point is in The Price of Politics, a book by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward about the 2011 debt ceiling standoff. His reporting shows the White House developed the idea and presented it to Democratic leadership on July 28 and to Boehner’s team on July 30.

In regards to one post how many vacations has Obama taken? In regards to Federal Employee furlough's of one day a week that was due to the sequester cuts which was the brainchild of President Obama who also promised to veto any legislation which would stop them from taking effect or given him any flexibility in deal with them.

Of course they didn't try. The last thing this bunch of idiots want is for the government to actually work. They much prefer a dysfunctional government where the upper 1% can make this graph even more lopsided.

Well, the GOP has a real problem. When significant portions of the ACA go into effect in 2014, and people find out that it will allow those whose only recourse previously was the emergency room to have health care, it will become a permanant fixture, until it morphs into a Single Payer Universal System. And the GOP will once more be seen as just an obstruction in the road, as they were for Social Security and MediCare.

CBS News) A new CBS News poll finds more Americans than ever want the Affordable Care Act repealed.

According to the poll, 36 percent of Americans want Congress to expand or keep the health care law while 39 percent want Congress to repeal it - the highest percentage seen in CBS News polls. The poll also found a majority of Americans - 54 percent - disapprove of the health care law, 36 percent of Americans approve of it and 10 percent said they don't know about it.

The 8th vacation in 6 months.

The "American people" understand that repealing Obamacare 40 times ... is hard work.

Very hard work.

I'm told that the cost of these futile attempts cost the American Taxpayers about $50,000,000, too.

The GOP is clearly worthless to the American people

I agree. And when combined with the liberal Democratic party the equation = Epic FAIL

Congress had a simple job to do to avoid sequester. Gain bipartisan agreement on spending cuts. They didn't even try

Congress sequester cuts were an insult...40billion? Are you kidding me. They should have cut 100 to 200 billion for starters and progressed from there.

Rush and the Donald have finally given Republicans a way to stop The Affordable Care Act: "shut down Government if Democrats don't agree to repeal it"

Believe it?

Why America will hand total control of our Government to Democrats in 2016.

Maybe if the Democrats had learned to compromise and work with the Republicans, they could have moved beyond this by now.

Maybe if they passed 40 bills to improve Obamacare, we could get somewhere

And if the liberals really practiced what they preached, they'd hold votes for the multiple budgets that have been passed and sent to the Senate. And....get this...if the Democrats did their job, why we'd have legislation moving though both chambers of Congress and hitting the Presidents desk in a torrent of activity!

At least it ain't a 40 million dollar trip to Africa. You can count on it, when the going gets rough Obama gets going.

Funny. I'm not even asking the Democrats to agree. The House passed legislation. A lot of legislation.

They don't have to agree with the GOP, or even with the legislation. Vote it down.

But do something. The bills have been passed by the PEOPLE of the United States (that is what the House of Representatives represent, right?) so the least the Democrats can do is stop obstructing everything, and if they cannot bring themselves to compromise, at least do your job and vote the bills down.

republicans need to stop playing games to pander to their base. Pass bills that have bipartisan support. A bill that starts......Repeal Obamacare is dead in the water

Just because the House wastes their time passing dead in the water bills is no reason the Senate should waste their time

The House has found it impossible (as recently as last week) to actually appropriate funds in accordance with the Ryan budget resolution they passed earlier this year. As noted at the time, the Ryan budgets are jokes that aren't actually workable. Even in the current House.

Chairman Rogers Statement on the THUD Bill
I am extremely disappointed with the decision to pull the [appropriations] bill from the House calendar today. The prospects for passing this bill in September are bleak at best, given the vote count on passage that was apparent this afternoon. With this action, the House has declined to proceed on the implementation of the very budget it adopted just three months ago.

What would be the point of the Senate adopting budget levels that even the batshit majority in the House can't stomach?

Has nothing to do with what I said.

The House HAS passed a budget and they HAVE sent it to the Senate.

The question is this. Why haven't the Democrats done as they call for the Republicans to do? They have the bills. Vote on them. Yes or no, but do something.

The House HAS done their job.

Bipartisan support can come as soon as the Democrats begin to compromise.

The House has done its job. It is time for the Senate to act.

The House HAS done their job.

The Senate considered and rejected the House's useless piece of shit budget months ago. Shortly before passing their own.

And no, the House didn't do their job. They've now acknowledged that they've failed to pass a workable budget, exposing their useless posturing for what was (as was obvious at the time). To review: even the House has been unable to produce actual appropriations bills in accordance with its own budget. That's because its budget is a meaningless, unworkable pile of shit.

They need to get back to square one and pass a real budget resolution.

Nobody?

Or just you?

You see, a great many Americans are waking up to the fact that the House of Representatives has been passing laws all year long. When the media says, "House GOP wasting their time," the people are going, "WTF? The House passed this bill and that bill."

They are also beginning to ask why it is such a waste of time for the House to do this if it is "dead on arrival".

They are correctly beginning to say to themselves, "If the Senate and the President have already made up their minds that they won't work with the House, then why are they lying to us by saying that the House isn't doing its job?"

You see, in order to do their job, they don't have to follow the President or the Senate's idea of policy. They only have to follow their own ideology.
