This relates to a discussion in another thread. I would like you to answer the question and give a brief description of your math background.

The question is: How many square feet are contained in an area 210 feet square?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

210 feet by 210 feet = 44,100 sq ft

Roughly an acre

I thought the same thing, but then I like distance and land so I can see why that stuck.

I'm suprised actually, that I got it right.

answer----the square root of 210. I was born a mathematician. Sir Isaac
Newton and I invented calculus and applesauce

Hate to differ, the answer is 210 squared.

You are on the right track. It's actually the square root of 210 raised to the fourth power.

I could have done it on paper------so there-----and under an apple tree---so THERE----
and how long did it take for the apple to reach the ground? (assuming the apple tree is no mars) --------how many apples in pi ?

You should have used a calculator. I did and got the fourth power of the square root of 210 is exactly 44099.999999999 -- so there!
The time to fall from an apple tree is about 3 meters.
The number of apples in a pi is 3.14159265358979888 +/- 0.000000000001

Simply too hard to figure...

It takes fewer apples if it's a tart pi...

Me thinks what he is looking for is 210 feet. You know like you got a 4000 square (foot) house.

you try doing a whole pi with three apples and-----a bit more. I do not like to use
calculators. I OUTLAW THEM---------I was once a kinda informal patch substitute
teacher in my son's school (a kinda private school---a termporary arrangement)------
the kids pulled out a calculator for EVERYTHING----and had no idea how to arrange
long division----------I INSISTED----they were very resistant. I have not yet figured
out why it is fourth power-----but I will-----on paper

If the area is 210 feet squared, it contains 210 square feet.

I dont' do those pansy French tart things-------a REAL AMERICAN PI has- an top
and a bottom crust and is at least ONE FOOT at dome height

I come from berry land, we don't let no apples in around here...

berries are ok for jam------but do not work out in calculations of 'G'

Is that how you were taught how to square a number? I was always taught you multiply the number by itself, like 210 X 210, not 210 X 1 which is what you did.

You have to use mass calculations..Like the atomic weight of a berry is equal to X amount to fill Y amount...Or complete the cube...
