A perfect SAT score denied entrance to ivy league schools liberals trickle down stupid...,

Nowadays, everything is racism.
Exactly! Which is why you should object to him playing the race card.
Looking forward to the next time a black person says they've been discriminated against.

We both know what will happen: They'll be the victim in the eyes of the PC zealots.
.

Except a black person is more likely to have faced discrimination.

Ethnic and Racial Minorities & Socioeconomic Status
Okay. So?
.
So you can't apply your imaginary standard to every situation. Obviously the individual in the OP was not discriminated against based on race. Statistics don't bear him out. Nobody dismissed his claim out of hand, they provided data to support them.

This type of discrimination exists.

College counselors advise some Asian students to appear less Asian - The Boston Globe

If students come to him early in high school, Chen will direct them to “switch to another musical instrument” or “play a sport a little bit out of their element.”

And for the college essay, don’t write about your immigrant family, he tells them: “Don’t talk about your family coming from Vietnam with $2 in a rickety boat and swimming away from sharks.”

One of Chen’s New York clients is a girl who attended a top public examination high school in the city, where more than half the class is Asian. She got a perfect score on her SAT, was valedictorian, class president, and captain of the badminton team.

Her father, who asked that the family not be identified, told the Globe that he contacted Asian Advantage when his daughter was a sophomore. He and his wife emigrated from China, and their daughter was born here. “In general, we have the impression that it’s not easy for Asian Americans to apply to college,” he said.

Chen said that he worked with the teenager to “deemphasize the Asianness in her resume.” She played the piano, but he encouraged her to participate in musical theater. Badminton was a no-no on her college app: Too many Asian students play racquet sports. Ditto for Asian Club. And she was to avoid saying that she was interested in biology or wanted to be a doctor.

Wow.

And there it is gang. You didn't build that, you didn't earn that, you don't deserve that.

America, 2017.
.

The point is valid. He's complaining that race was the reason he didn't get accepted into some of the most prestigious universities in the world, when in reality your chances of being accepted are higher as an Asian-American.

Millions apply to enter Ivy League schools, and only a very limited number of which are accepted. Maybe he just wasn't good enough?

Asians generally scholastically out preform all other races, Jews come pretty close. Asian and Jews as a whole have a higher IQ by around an average of 15 points over whites. Because we're in the business of filling quotas in our higher education facilities (instead of a merit based system), there's a limited number of slots for Asian students. And to get into those slots asians have to out preform every race by a wide margin, this is admitted by our colleges. Asian Americans also have to further compete with the best of the best from pacific rim countries that are also competing for the same few slots.

The stats below, for example, show that 12.3% of Dartmouth College's students are Asian-American, 5.4% are Black or African-Americans and 7.1% are Hispanics. Diversity should continue to increase at the "Big Green." According to Dartmouth's website, the Class of 2019, which enrolled this fall, had Asian-Americans accounting for 19% of new freshmen and African-Americans, 8%.

Diversity At Top Colleges: Here's The Proof

Are those stats representative of our society? Let's see...

identified race Percent of population
White alone 72.4%
Black or African American 12.6%
Asian 4.8%
Native American and Alaska Natives 0.9%
Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders 0.2%
Two or more races 2.9%
Some other race 6.2%

Nope...

A perfect score on the SAT's and ACT's as well as advanced placement courses in High School are automatic tickets to the most prestigious schools in the nation.
Don't kid yourself.
Asians are just as much victims of racial quotas as Caucasians.
No, they get it much worse.

" Asians need SAT scores 140 points higher than whites, 270 points higher than Hispanics, and an incredible 450 points higher than blacks (out of 1,600 points) to get into these schools. An Asian applicant with an SAT score of 1,500, that is, has the same chance of being accepted as a white student with a 1,360, a Latino with a 1,230, or an African-American with a 1,050. Among candidates in the highest (1,400–1,600) SAT range, 77 percent of blacks, 48 percent of Hispanics, 40 percent of whites, and only 30 percent of Asians are admitted."
Fewer Asians Need Apply

Boom, mic drop. This has been a problem for asians for a looong time since AA. I've been talking about it for years, but the left doesn't care, BC asians aren't the demographic they're after. The left sees EVERYTHING through the prism of race, and has been playing favorites with whatever minority benefits them more at the time. If they ACTUALLY cared about discrimination, they'd be calling for a blind system for admission/job hiring...where they don't see what race or name is applying, but instead a number.

A perfect ACT score couldn't get this student into Yale, Princeton, or Stanford, and he says it's because he's Asian-American

With a perfect ACT score and 13 Advanced Placement courses under his belt, Michael Wang applied to seven Ivy League universities and Stanford in 2013.

An Asian-American, Wang suspected his race might work against him. But he was still shocked when he was rejected by Stanford and every Ivy League school except for the University of Pennsylvania.

Wang says he worked incredibly hard and excelled in every area possible. But it still wasn't good enough.

"There was nothing humanly possible I could do," Wang told us, saying he felt utterly demoralized after his rejections.

Wang said that after he was rejected from most of the Ivies, he filed a complaint with the US Department of Education alleging that Yale, Stanford, and Princeton discriminated against him because he was Asian-American.

Wang isn't alone in his belief that the Ivies discriminate against Asians. A coalition of Asian-American groups filed a lawsuit against Harvard last month alleging the college and other Ivy League institutions use racial quotas to admit students to the detriment of more qualified Asian-American applicants. The more than 60 Asian groups are coming together to fight what they say are unfair admission practices.

Wang's credentials are impressive. Academically, he was ranked second overall in his class and graduated with a 4.67 weighted grade point average. He scored a 2230 on his SAT, placing him in the 99th percentile of students who took the exam.
This is clearly an unfortunate, troubling situation for this young man. With all of his stellar academic credentials and his 99th percentile SAT score of 2230, there's no good reason that every Ivy League school except the University of Pennsylvania had to reject him out of hand.

I personally support affirmative action in college admissions, with race as one factor among many, but not the extreme, quota-style version of it that sets a rigid numerical goal for the number of minorities it should admit. It looks like this young student fell victim to that.

Why don't the US take on the European model...

First off NO INTERVIEWS OR ANY SUBJECTIVE MEASURE, all entrance is done by a transparent methods which assigns points to your national final schools exams. The students get places on a supply and demand with scores advertised in newspapers before offers are sent...

Simple, no affirmative action but resources are invested in poorer areas... Poor areas get better money for kids, kids make there own luck... They study, get the grades and goto college... All fees are free (well 2,000 per year for the most expensive course) and grants are given to poor kids...

European Kids spend their time studying, demand for top courses is high. I have seen guys grind themselves into top courses through sheer hard work...

This works too, it's sad to note that Europe has way less racial diversity than the United States, yet has a better system. But that's what happens when demographics are used as pawns in a political game.

A meritocracy.

We won't be seeing that, because it is built on hard work and self-discipline, rather than entitlements.

And you just proved that you are basing admission strictly on race. That's what we're saying is the problem. We're suggesting blind admission. No race, no names, no gender, just a number to review, based on merit not race. THERE IS ZERO DISCRIMINATION THIS WAY.

You know I don't think that was it. I think it was his last name. Would you like to set next to a wang in class, restaurant or movie theater? I mean come on, roll call, is there a wang in the room? You can make wang jokes all day long but are you going to put your hand on wang?
At least he isnt named 'Wang Tu Lon', or "Bing Bang Ow", or "Wi So Fukt".

Might have been accepted if his name was Huong Dong.

By racial diversity I meant that they have only a 5 percent black population, and almost every other minority population is smaller than that, except in England. Whites (I believe now) are the minority, when all other minorities are added into one. I think whites make up 47% of the population now, (I could be wrong, that might have been a projection). Still, what I'm saying is, you throw a rock into a crowd in Europe, your gonna hit a white person.

I can believe that discrimination was involved but it's not a given. I think in Ivy League schools in addition to testing there's an interview process where they try to determine more intangible qualities like exposure to culture, wisdom and social skills.
Liberal Caucasians have a "thing" about Asians.
Liberals believe the Asian culture with its relentless pursuit of excellence is inherently unfair. And to combat this, self hating guilt ridden liberals who see excellence and achievement at a curse rather than a blessing, and their new age idea of the "participation trophy" see Asians as the threat to their belief that members of racial and cultural minority groups are incapable of success without a leg up. Asians do not need nor want their help. So they are punished for their perceived insolence.
I don't think that's it at all. What did this kid do besides study? Did he play an instrument? Paint? Write poetry? Play sports? There are a lot of skills and talents that aren't measured by an SAT score.

Blacks underrepresented despite heavy documented discrimination in favor of due to poor academics.

Asians over represented despite heavy documented discrimination against them, due to superior academics.
Sounds like discrimination is a sure fire way to get a demographic moving UPWARD, lol.
