When Trump calls the free press the enemy of the people, I take him seriously. He is, after all the President of the United States. That puts him in the driver's seat, and in a position to make decisions to seriously erode my rights, especially since he has the power to appoint scores, or even hundreds of federal judges. He is already violating people's rights, as determined by an EO that has been suspended by a federal judge. Muhammad Ali's son was detained at a Florida airport simply because of his name and his religion. He wants to silence press criticisms, and is trying to intimidate some of them by leaving them out of WH events through favoritism. Everyone who pays attention knows exactly which ones he opposes. He has already said that he believes that he can round up illegal aliens without having probable cause, which is clearly unconstitutional. He makes fake news headlines, claiming that 3 million fraudulent votes were cast for Hillary, without a shred of evidence, or naming a source, and then shreds the press when they criticize him, for not printing THEIR sources. He refuses any investigation about Russian influence on the election, when the Justice Department has already stated that the Russians were in frequent contact with his own campaign. I'm still waiting for the HUGE announcement that he promised to make several years ago about Obama's birth certificate. There were NOT thousands of people celebrating in the streets of new Jersey when the towers fell. He is a pathological liar, and the most dangerous president this country has ever had.

Most right wingers who are now stuck with the Trumpster have NO choice but to condone all of the excesses this clown is imposing on our democracy.....and that is too bad; brainwashing is never pleasant to watch.

However, the current administration is well aware that there are very damaging leaks about the Trump administration dealings with Russian thugs just waiting to be exposed in the upcoming weeks (and probably some of these leaks will be from the Russians themselves in their quest to ridicule the current status of U.S. standing in the world's eyes.)

Given these realities, the oval office has launched a preemptive strike against our own media outlets (labeling them fake news) in order to "cushion" the blow of what these media outlets will soon reveal.

Whenever any organization is beleaguered by an onslaught of controversy, the organization retreats into its bunkers hoping that the controversy will be overshadowed by a more important exigency.

Ultimately this sham of an administration will not be brought down by so-called liberals, but by sane republicans who would rather lose a battle than a more devastating war launched by a charlatan under their banner.

Trump will not release his taxes for two obvious reasons. First, he is not worth anything near what he claims. I have read that experts at Fortune estimate 3 to 4 billion, instead of the 12 billion he claims. Second, he does not want it out in print that he has carried forward losses for years, and has not paid any taxes since his last bankruptcy. I suspect that he also does not want America to know how much conflict of interest he has in his business dealings with other nations. The Russian thing is also a factor. I just read that Putin is probably the richest man in the world.
