It seems like everytime a human trafficking story puts a price on women from BFE or wherever these prices are taken seriously despite being unverifiable and they get repeated and cited as gospel. But other than Hosea buying back his ex, Gomer, at the used hooker lot I see little verifiable evidence of slavery as opposed to agency when it comes to adult women becoming hookers or kept women.

Worse yet prices given do not account for transportation costs which are fairly easy to verify. This makes it impossible to turn a profit except in the contiguous American land mass. It is difficult but possible to get from Patagonia in Argentina to say Alaska with little or no out of pocket expenses or cross the Bering ice bridge most winters but generally speaking the prices that get quoted require either agency or a very stupid trafficker. European women who go into the Far East sex trade are usually paying off school and consumer debts and know exactly what they are getting into. How much of the news about this subject is simply bogus?
