A preview of single payer? Yes.

Now in a capitalist medical plan/system, it is in the interest of the hospital to ensure the patient gets the proper tests (lawsuit coverage) and is pleased with their doctor's quality service (return customer).

Compare that to a socialized medical plan that doesn't give a shit about the patient....because you can't sue the GOV.

Will single-payer mean the end of health insurance?
It will create a single "insurer".

Good thing that monopolies are so well known for delivering superior products and services, isn't it?

So, again, there'll be no access to health insurance if you want it?

You have cancer so you'll get access after you fill out these forms in triplicate. It'll be 3 months for approval of therapy. After approval, your name goes on the waiting list. No not that 2 week one. The secret one that goes for 6 months. Oops, no way to treat the cancer at this point. Lets :eusa_pray:

And the VA has many more successes than failures.

The great thing is that we can affect the government's health care.

We can't touch the insurance companies.

So make the smart pick.

Spoken like a true boot-licking statist.

Are you still claiming to be a Republican and a "true conservative," Fakey?

Have you resolved your incontinence issue yet?

bripat, you are an anarchist and would let people just die, so your opinion means nothing.

You are claiming to be an American through and through, and you are not anything of sort.

And I understand you are still impotent.

Also, you won't receive the latest drugs because they are "experimental" or not "cost effective."

Not sure what you mean by that. Insurance as you know it? Yes it's gone. You no longer get to purchase insurance for yourself or your family you will be assigned the government catch all version

Not because they were kept waiting for treatment too long.

I recall a Dallas Emergency Room finding a man in the waiting room dead after waiting room for something like 43 hours. He was came in for chest pains.

Horseshit. That probably occurred in a hospital in London, not Dallas.

Man found dead in NYC hospital waiting room more than 8 hours ... http://www.cbsnews.com/news/man-found-de...pital-waiting-room-8-hoursJan 27, 2014 ... Reports have emerged that a man died in a hospital waiting room in New York City more than eight hours after he sought emergency care.

So, why do countries with single-payer health systems still have thriving health insurance companies.
And why do many of the residents of those countries buy health insurance?

That was settled with the AZT controversies.

Yeah, folks will get the trials and experimental opportunities.

Not at all. It happens every day in the UK.

The AZT "controversies" settled nothing.

Because the so-called "single payer" system sucks.

Common sense tells any sentient individual that "single payer" government HC will be as "compassionate" as the IRS, as "customer friendly" as the DMV, and as efficient as the DOD.

I hope to God that the GOP wakes up and makes an effort to roll back this insanity at every level of government. It will only happen if 2014 wipes out some establishment whores and replaces them with real conservatives.

Obama and the congressmen will have their own healthcare. They will be exempt from single payer. Liberals are okay with that.

If you want to, and can afford to, you can get health insurance...just like today?
Is that what you're saying?
