National ID. Without it you cannot get a job, obtain housing, buy a car (much less get a driver's license), receive government assistance, do business of any kind or send your kids to school. You get nothing. Zero. Nada.

In my opinion they allow employers to hire at low wages which means no need to raise wages or even bring them up to minimum wage while allowing for larger profits.
