Abortion facts

Abortion is simply a matter of whether or not you believe there is a human being who is being murdered.

For those of us who believe the child in the womb is as important a human being as anyone else, there simply is no argument persuasive enough to convince us it should be legal to murder that child.

Affordability of a child? Affordability is an issue at every age. Being able to afford children can arise at any point. Layoffs, divorce, death of one of the parents, etc. So the affordability excuse for murdering a child is specious.

Regardless, it’s still the woman’s choice.
You don't get to choose if you can kill a kid just because you can't afford it. Otherwise, you could kill a five year old and say it is your choice and the kid has no right to live.

As I said, affordability is a specious argument.
The kid has a name and family and friends. It is quite different...
The unborn child has a family, and in many cases has a name before birth.

Regardless, having a name and friends is not what determines one's right to live.

There is no dividing line.
We disagree. Had I been aborted I’d not have had any memories or thoughts. I’d have never existed.

That's the difference. Pro-lifers believe the child in the womb has a right to live which trumps the mother's inconvenience. Just as a five year old's right to live trumps a mother's inconvenience.

There is no dividing line. Only pro-abortion people think there is.
Pro lifers aren’t the ones who will be caring for that child. Do we really need more bad parents?
its called adoption baby killer
You have proof they would all be adopted do you?
There is a multi-year waiting list for people who want to adopt a newborn.
Some numbers then.

So what’s your solution?

Make abortion Illegal?

Fine, then what?

What do you do about a woman who has an abortion?

Half of all abortions are the result of no birth control being used. Another 19 percent are the result of improper or irregular use of birth control.

We could significantly reduce abortions by simply educating people about using birth control.

Then abortions would be so rare that they would re-attain a stigma again.

The numbers are already decreasing rather rapidly.

See my previous post.

Yes, I would outlaw abortion, and jail any abortionist.

At the same time, I would educate the public about using birth control. Everyone has access to birth control, they simply are not using it, or they are using it irregularly and/or improperly.

We could drastically reduce unwanted pregnancies through education.

It can get expensive.

Thanks to some states making it increasingly more difficult to get an abortion, and thanks to the widespread availability of birth control.

Oh? Is there a study on that?

What It Takes to Get an Abortion in the Most Restrictive U.S. State

“It doesn’t make a difference if it’s legal if it’s inaccessible,” said Diane Derzis, owner of Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the only remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi. “And it’s definitely inaccessible to many people.”

Here’s what it takes to get an abortion in two states with distinct approaches. California is one of eight states that have no major abortion restrictions. Mississippi is among the most restrictive states in the country. And with its single clinic and many abortion laws, it is effectively the most difficult state in which to get an abortion. Highlighted entries show the impact of restrictions.

It’s not hard to travel between states...

While the CDC paper did not delve into the reasons for the decline, analysts have cited improved access to birth control, which has led to a decrease in unintended pregnancies, especially among teens, as well as the state laws regarding parental consent, waiting periods and other conditions that make it more difficult for women to get abortions.

That leaves a lot of questions.
Nope. It confirms what I told you.

"Analyses have suggested that improved contraceptive use played a role in the long-term declines. In some states, decreased access to abortion services contributed, as well,” said Rachel Jones, principal research scientist for the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports women’s right to abortion.

Chuck Donovan, president of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the research arm of Susan B. Anthony List, which opposes abortion, added other possible causes: “a higher percentage of women today decide to carry an unexpected pregnancy to term, teenagers are less sexually active and with fewer partners, pro-life views are more prevalent among the rising generation than they were 40 years ago.”
