Again, offensive speech must be protected or free speech is meaningless. Did the blogger write anything which constitutes libel? It seemed to be more like a bunch of half-baked theories and opinions, rather than statements that Swift did things as though they are fact.

If I were to write a blog in which I say that I consider the beheading of Ned Stark in George RR Martin's A Game of Thrones to be a celebration of the execution of Jesus Christ, and an example of an anti-Christian bias found throughout the book, I would be an idiot, but would have every right to make such interpretations.

I didn't see anything but foolish interpretations by the blogger, but I did not read their entire article, so there may be something I missed.

I am happy the ACLU is willing to defend the right of people to use offensive speech. I don't need to agree with that speech.
