Americans Are More Radicalized Than Ever

I dont see how decriminalization is going to help with the opioid problem.
Black racketeering by violent criminal gangs will dry up, for one thing.....ODs will become nearly unheard of.

BTW, the opioid problem is almost exclusively caused by the synthetic drugs peddled by BigPharm.

Yeah...but I still dont see how making the drugs readily available is going to help the problem.
And why would ODs go down?

Yeah...but I still dont see how making the drugs readily available is going to help the problem.
And why would ODs go down?
ODs will go down because people will get carefully measured doses....Nearly all ODs are from getting what are known as "hot shots"....Moreover, opioid addicts need the drug to operate "normally", not to get high as a kite.

Whats to stop them from stock piling their doses?
And yes they do want to get high as a kite just as a drunk likes to get hammered.
And whats to stop a person who doesnt even take the stuff from getting it and selling it to junkies?
Hell,a junkie could have five or six people getting it for them.

What the hell does decriminalizing drugs have to do with the OP? More diversion to avoid the truth?

There is no more middle ground in Washington and many other places across the country.
And that's the nice way to put it.

I read a piece a while back postulating that it has been so long since we communicated with each other like normal, decent adults, that we have LITERALLY LOST THE SKILL. That pretty much terrified me. Still does.

And yeah, the behavior is on both sides. Both sides constantly say there's no use in even trying to communicate with the other, and so that's what we're getting.

This is self-inflicted wound.

1) Who needs to stockpile when you can go to the local store and get your fix?
2) Then I'd say you are seriously uninformed about opioid addiction.
3) You mean like teetotalers who own liquor stores?
4) Like that's not happening now?

I talk with a few people with whom I disagree politically...But they have the trait of intellectual curiosity....To a great degree, the education system and pop culture are killing this natural behavior.

Bingo. Intellectual curiosity is an absolute key, and that's one of the first traits to go when someone is consumed by an ideology.

It's one of the most dangerous parts of the pathology.

Well lets see. The neighbor kid next door was found floating face down in his parents hot tub after ODing, the kid across the street,I say kid but he's thirty and still living at home....yep,an opioid abuser.
His buddy is thirty two and still living at home....same same.
I partied my ass off when I was young and have tried damn near every drug out there in my youth.
My mother was a drug counselor and a paramedic and she has some nasty stories about drug abuse.
Making it legal will only exacerbate the problem.

So laws against opioids haven't stopped this, huh?....What's your evidence that these instances would increase without the laws?

I’m not going to paste a bunch of stuff from this article as I think the title says it all.

There is no more middle ground in Washington and many other places across the country.

And, as Limbaugh said recently, if the Dims lose in November, things will only get worse.

Politicians getting death threats.

Gruesome threats to the families of politicians – once taboo here.

Local authorities losing control of their streets and neighborhoods to paid demonstrators.

Communities declaring their disobedience to the law.

Is the country literally “spiraling toward civil war?”

Only because of the right wing. We get to "blame the right wing" in our All of our history books.

The whole and entire Problem is, that the right wing refuses to help out with better solutions at lower cost. Socialism on a national basis and gunboat diplomacy is what they do best. We have a general welfare clause not a general warfare clause.

Nothing but repeal and "rudderless" tax cut economics is their actual policy.

Huh?

Funding our defense is specifically enumerated in the constitution. Pretty sure the founders would have been laughing at how pathetic we are now with all of our worthless govt programs.....probably even more so laughing at people who have construed welfare in the constitution to somehow equating to endless trinkets and freebies for all.
They would cry over the militarism and foreign involvements.

I'm sure they would and rightfully so.

"than ever" is a long time. More at odds internally than 1861-1865?
More than at the Revolution?
Ridiculously divided over often meaningless trifles right now, certainly.
Unintelligently engaging in the destruction of political dialog and replacing it with constant sarcasm, absolutely.

Democrats are betting everything on winning Congress back. They've spent an unprecedented massive amount of time & money smearing everyone. They've stooped to all-time shameful lows. Soros may actually go broke funding these Midterms.

If they fail, it will be considered the biggest blunder in politics history. They would freak out and resort to mob violence. I recommend folks be prepared for it. Obtain your Conceal Carry Permit, and become proficient with your firearms. Be prepared to defend yourself and your family.

In every post you show your complete ignorance.

Common sense.
You make something legal and readily available more people are going to try it therefore more people will become addicted.
It ain't rocket science.
