But only Trump has a plan to bring those jobs back.
Labor unions have forced jobs overseas… Fact

Labor Unions have not done themselves any favors by mandating one product go on one truck while another product go on another when other markets are sending all types of products on one truck.

Trump is right but Rasmussen is wrong. The so-called "scientific polls" have been found to be nothing but push polls that target certain demographics and phrase questions in a certain way to get the results they want. Americans aren't really willing to pay more for the things they need in order to "get manufacturing jobs back" or they already would have done it. Americans are like everyone else in the freaking world. They want to pay less for products rather than latch on to some sleazy scheme hatched by the government (and labor unions) designed to fatten union leaders and the IRS. The entire system needs to be turned upside down and, if it is possible,Trump is the only candidate in modern history who can do it.

But only Trump has a plan to bring those jobs back.

Americans paying more is only part of it. Here is what is also needed.......

- More restrictions/tariffs on imports
- Lower Corporate Taxes
- Less Regulations
- Less Limited Liability
- Less/no artificial wage mandates (e.g. unions and/or government)

Competitive markets globally don't have the level of taxes, regulations, liability, and wage mandates that we do.

More restrictions and tariffs on imports can lead to trade wars- or just higher costs for American consumers. Do you want to pay 30% more for a TV? That is what Donald Trump has proposed.
Lower corporate taxes? Might help
Less Regulations- yes- China does have less regulations.

Eliminating unions? Yep China doesn't allow real organizing.....

Yes- we could be more like China......

Increase tariffs to be on part with our competitors couldn't hurt. What is easier? America selling agriculture and automotives in Japan or Japan selling agriculture and cars in the US? One more thing.......Americans need to take home more of their pay.

How are Americans going to take home more if we raise tariff's on imported goods?

The premise is at least a willingness by Americans to pay for more goods. Need to make sure they get to keep more of their money to do so.

It could compete if China were forced to allow its currency to float instead of devaluing it to keep its manufactures cheaper than our's.

China's manufacturing is less than ours because of several things:
a) Labor is cheaper- not as cheap as it once was- it has risen dramatically in the last 10 years- the average manufacturing wage is about $8,000 a year. You really believe floating currency will make $8,000 a year labor equal to $50,000 a year labor in the United States?
b) Less regulation- Chinese manufacturing loves to pollute
View attachment 91683If we allowed American industry to operate like Chinese industry that would make American industry more competitive.....

By the way- I have never seen or felt air pollution the way I have in Beijing.

I kind of agree but been seeing reports some sectors? Of China labor cost is getting real equal to ours., that's why country's like Vietnam is under cutting their labor prices.

China labor is skyrocketing- and yes- those jobs are going to other countries were labor is cheaper- Vietnam mostly.
So you are saying he can't bring back American jobs from China?

Then he's lying to his base and they are ignorant to the truth.

Well I haven't said it but I think one of the most dangerous aspects of a President Trump is that much of what he says he would do would likely lead to a Trade war that could send the world into a Great Depression.

He has suggested a 30% Duty on Chinese goods- which would mean American consumers would pay 30% more for most of what they buy in Target and Walmart and Costco.

China would retaliate with probably a 30% duty on all American imports- which would kill a lot of American agriculture- it would devestate the Mid-West. And help kill off the American air industry.

Trump's trade policies are actually very frightening.

It's frightening if you fear monger and think he could get away with it..

But reality he couldn't. We all know trade wars never work.

lol Trade wars? China already has so many restrictions on imports that it is silly to talk about trade wars.

You mean the Americans who are unemployed or underemployed because so many good paying manufacturing jobs have left for China or Mexico? Perhaps you mean the thousands of Americans who will lose their jobs when Ford moves its small car operations to Mexico?

Only a few of us guys pay more because we hate cheap ass stuff, or hate waiting in line like my type.

But I know my fellow Americans they like a deal. They go for cheap instead of quality.

But I think when it comes to vehicles and high priced items they are starting to buy for quality.

Guess it sucks to be you, but as a highly skilled industrial maintenance guy who moved to south carolina in 2004 jobs are a plenty, plus now that Volvo is building a car plant here to go along with BMW..

The way I define it is this:

Granger now has origin of equipment when you order products.

Milwaukee cordless drills are manufactured over seas

Makita is made in Georgia 80 miles from where I live now.

You tell me how can a Japanese company make a profit off of American labor but not a true blue American company?

Btw I was in the Makita plant back in the 1980s my company sold them a few injection molding machines , I know most of the parts are made here and then assembled .

If you bleev the Bring Our Jobs Back fools, you'd think a textile worker should be paid 30 dollars an hour.

It's a low tech industry and should be automated or outsourced.

In fact, a lot of jobs that have vanished didn't go overseas. They were automated and are NEVER coming back.

The days of growing up to work in the same factory as your daddy are over. Trump is selling a cocaine-induced fantasy.

We need to be training our kids for the jobs of tomorrow, not the old low-tech jobs of yesterday.
You must have never been in a large warping plant have you ?
Because all jobs are warping jobs?

I kind of think we both agree on this one Rdean we need way more technical high schools and skilled trade schools like they have in Germany.

Yea, that's the beginning of a good idea.

See, the thing is that technology has become specialized. It's difficult to teach a group specialized technology because it's a huge expenditure for only a limited number of jobs.
What we have to do is get companies more involved and create apprenticeships. That way people can be trained for more specialized positions. The pool of talent ends up with a broader base of training.
Naturally, there will be stand outs and those people will make the bigger bucks based on merit and knowledge.
I worked for a while as a CAD manager. I only held on to the position for as long as I did because it took time to find someone really interested in learning the job beyond just using the CAD program. Someone had to learn file, data and computer model management - individual parts and assemblies, ECR's, ECN's, computer and server maintenance, and everything else related. They did a better job than me because I was also the senior design engineer. I had to work with and train someone for nearly a year until I was asking him questions. I can't tell you how much fun it was working with someone who who saw the job as more than a job. Those are the people who get the good raises.
