America’s wealthiest families smash income ceiling, middle-class left far behind

Hey rkm, where in the COTUS do you find the part about corporations being given the same rights as people?
I missed that part.

How's come those guys Jefferson and Madison didn't love them some corporations like you do rkm?

The Founding Fathers on regulating corporations.
1. “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”
— Thomas Jefferson, 1802 letter to Secretary of State Albert Gallatin.

2. “I hope that we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country.”
— Thomas Jefferson.

3. “The power of all corporations ought to be limited, […] the growing wealth acquired by them never fails to be a source of abuses.”
— James Madison

I think politicians should wear their corporate sponsors on their suits. A list, a lot like a NASCAR driver show his sponsors, would go right down the sleeves of the suit and let EVERYONE know just what corporations the good Congress person is beholding to.

Don't you think we should know which corporations are buying our politicians rkm? That is why corporations are people too isn't it? So that the corporate money can flow into politicians coffers and they can get elected and re elected and do the corporations bidding. Right?

I mean why the fuck else would we be treating corporations like people?
We already do know who the political contributors are. Do you need a link?

The issue with CU was free speech, not political contributions to politicians. More particularly the issue was whether or not you loose your right to free speech when you join a group, like a union or corporation.

As for your corporations are people too... That's just some dumb ass political phrase drummed up by some dumb ass like you that think's it sounds cool to say. But the CU decision did not promote corporations to person-hood. That's just stupid.

No one said corporations have the same rights as people. That's just some dumb ass phrase that dumb asses like you keep parroting.

Where does it say in the constitution that people give up their rights as free citizens when they are associated with a corporation or union?

Of course the middle class is getting screwed. When government becomes the means of distributing wealth, two groups win - the elite, and the mob. And really, only the elite. But they can manage to convince the mob they're winning too.

As for your corporations are people too..

I know people like you are big on using the founding fathers to try and prove your points. Want to comment on what a couple biggie founding fathers had to say about corporations.

Or you just wanna let that slide on by?

Say the one that made his far left American Dream off of slave illegal labor..

The power of corporations are limited. More specifically, one of the primary jobs of our government is breaking up monopolies. Sadly, they have not been doing their job breaking up monopolies. Maybe we should start electing people that will.

I did already. Our government should break up these monopolies. No corporation should hold sway over such a large % of our economy that they are "too big to fail." GM should have been broken up, for example, not saved. For that matter, toyota should be punished as they are also too large. Moving along the oligopoly of the corporate boards need to be broken up. I could list a few big banks too.

For that matter, toyota should be punished as they are also too large.

LMAO. You want to break up a foreign corporation? What you think gives the USA the right to break up a foreign corporation.

The power of corporations are limited.

Really. In politics, money is power. And after the SC had decided that money is free speech, the amounts of money flowing into politics from corporations and unions has never been greater. And those amount are expected to increase in coming elections.

And you think this is good? Why is that?

We already do know who the political contributors are. Do you need a link?

No I want a public acknowledgment by the politicians (on C SPAN) of the fact that they accept huge campaign contributions from corporations and I want the American people to be able to know who these big donors are by looking at the politicians themselves.

It works for NASCAR right? And doesn't hurt the races. So lets see who is bankrolling these guys. A little shame on them might get a little better result.

join a group, like a union or corporation.

I hate to tell you rkm. You work for corporations. You join unions. Do you understand the difference?
I own my own corporations. I also own stock in corporations. Yes I've also worked for corporations. Some people do work for unions. Some people join unions. There are many definitions for the term join. Do you understand the difference between the different uses of the term join?

Do you not know the difference between breaking up like you said and punishing like I said? Were you born a liar, or was it taught to you?

Many governments place restrictions on foreign corporations before they are allowed to sell products in country. We place restrictions on foreign and domestic corporations. Your education is wanting.

No, the SC did not decide that money is free speech. That is nothing more than another piece of bullshit propaganda that you are parroting. Don't you know English?

As for the amounts of money flowing into politics from corporations and unions, yeah those limits have not changed. Again just more bullshit parroting. You really have no idea what you are talking about.

It already happens. You're just too busy watching porn.

That's awful!! Now corporations can do the same thing unions have been doing for decades.

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation,

That is one of my favorite fake quotes.

Have you seen the one where Jefferson says GMOs are bad? LOL!

You get really confused. You "join" a union. You pay the union for your membership.
You "work" for a corporation. The corporation pays you.

Oh and I do understand the difference. And I understand that the way you used the work "join" was your effort to equate working for a corporation to the joining of a union. They ain't the same.

Don't you know English?

Sure I know English. Let me show you.

Kiss my ass you stupid lying cocksucker.

Did you understand that?

Gee I sure hope you understood that English. I typed it as plainly as I could.

If the rich aren't paying their fair share. I agree that we should raise it to a equal percentage with the non-rich. Only fair.

But the rich are paying a higher percentage than the non-rich.
Why would you lower what the rich pay?

The fortunate 400

400 tax returns reporting the highest incomes in 2009.

Six American families paid no federal income taxes in 2009 while making something on the order of $200 million each.

another 110 families paid 15 percent or less in federal income taxes.
The fortunate 400 David Cay Johnston Reuters

The 400 richest Americans used to pay 30% of their income on the average to Uncle Sam(but 55% in 1955).

Overall, the top 400 paid an average income tax rate of 19.9 percent, the same rate paid by a single worker who made $110,000 in 2009. The top 400 earned five times that much every day.

Just 82 of the top 400 were taxed in accord with the Buffett rule, which proposes a minimum tax of 30 percent on annual incomes greater than $1 million.

From 1992 to 2007 the top 400 earners in the U.S. saw their income increase 392% and their average tax rate reduced by 37%

It s the Inequality Stupid Mother Jones
