What irony. It's not schadenfreude, it's about fairness, social and economic equality and the massive hypocrisy of those who 'getawoody' by repressing the existence of their fellow American citizens. And the Right is using the vocabulary of the victim. Religious freedom is "attacked" by Liberal "Facsists".
Let's consider the order of battle and the means of these 'attacks'. LGBT clients come to these businesses as paying customers with the expectation they will be served just as all other paying customers. They come with cash or credit cards in hand.
How terrible! How wholly offensive!
And how do these Christian business owners respond? By citing the primary tenets of their faith. Love thy neighbor as you would be loved yourself. Wait a minute! That can't be right!
Judge not lest ye be judged! Hold on! That's not the right passage.
He who is without sin shall cast the first stone! Nope! Something amiss with that bit of teaching.
Oh well, it's in that Bible someplace. Check the back. If Brother Fred Phelps was still among the living he'd know. He made his bread and butter beating up Gays.
I wonder how these brave defenders of homophia mascarading as pious Christians would feel if the scorn reined down on them was anywhere as telling as the scorn their fellow Conservatives felt toward the Westboro Baptists when they held signs reading "God Hates Fags" at veteran's funerals?
Religious freedom! Is there no ignorance you cannot protect?
Another busy body who gets a woody at the misery of others. and of course, lets government enforce the misery because they don't have the balls to do it themselves.
It's about "fairness" only for the causes you agree with, for everyone and everything else, its about using government to force your morals on others for no other reason that you think one form of butt hurt is more equal than another form of butt hurt.
And people don't repress, governments do. And the only repression going on is against people you don't agree with.
No irony at all.
