Anyone notice the lack of food drives this year?

So...where have they been? Post office usually has two or three a year especially around the Holidays. Not this year. Same for grocery stores. I have literally had to search for places that take donations both for food and toys for tots. What gives?
I think your missing the fact that the whole yr has been one long food drive,,

When a poor person approaches me for a hand out, i ask who they voted for. If they say Biden, i tell them that they should go to his house and look for the handout since Biden is going to raise my taxes thus making it harder for me to be charitable to those who voted to have my taxes raised..
Exactly why I’m getting my donations in now because for the next 4 years the democrats and the assholes that voted for them are going to have to pick up the slack.
The Democrats dont do anything for the poor, they want them to die, which is why they dont make it easy for people to work for themselves and have personal satisfaction..
Well ...that was obvious since they killed off thousands of seniors by housing them with COVID infected patients and their sheeple couldn’t have cared less.

I don't know why people don't recognize that we have been suffering through a pandemic for almost a year and things have not been business as usual. Are people this oblivious? No one could have anticipated what happened. Donate to local food banks through Feeding American online.

I try to donate a bag of groceries every time I get paid. Took me awhile to find a place to take them. Finally found a thrift store for seniors where sales go to a monthly seniors only food donations center.

You would think food banks would be advertising their needs to the public though.

Oblivious? No. These organizations need to advertise better so people know where to donate.

Because they've been going on every month, not just on holidays, plus the demographics that usually give the most to real charities, blue collar types, are being strangled economically. The County here hands out boxes every month here, with lines 2 miles long.
They haven’t been doing a good job advertising the donation drives. I haven’t seen any. It’s pretty sad when they make the public search for them when so many people are out of work.

My main complaint is that many of the distribution locations aren't even remotely near where the truly poor can get to them, which is just bizarre. Many of those don't have autos or the gas money to get there.

The senior center I have started to donate to has four drop off locations in different parts of the city throughout the month ( a different one each week) where seniors can pick up care packages which I thought was good. Hopefully more start doing that.

I did see the Salvation Army donation buckets...........and if you are on social media like FB or Twitter or?? and follow your local police or fire dept, they may have posted whatever plans for donations there. Atleast here that's what happened.

Well......it is the party of death........

None of the totalitarian forms of political plague have the slightest concern for human life: not communism (gulags), not Nazism (concentration camps), not Liberalism (abortion), not Progressivism (eugenics), not socialism (theft), not fascism (murder).

They only differ in the final outcome: slavery, serfdom, or death.

They all follow Trotsky: "We must rid ourselves once and for all of the Quaker-Papist babble about the sanctity of human life."

The bulk of my charitable deductions goes to City Meals on Wheels....brings food to the homes of the elderly.

Exactly. There is no coincidence that during a pandemic where people’s livelihoods are being destroyed their ability to get supplies is made next to impossible also. It’s called social conditioning. They want you to suffer as much as possible.

All of this "hunger in America" stuff is generated by the media and the media is busy with other issues this year. Nobody starves in the greatest Country in the world unless they want to. The notion that "kids go to bed hungry" is ludicrous. Did you ever see a teenager who wasn't hungry for another slice of pizza? Ironically the biggest nutritional problem among (poor) children and adults is obesity. God bless the people who are motivated to contribute to food drives if it makes you feel good about yourself but it is just an exercise in propaganda.

They are doing it a bit different here lately with the covid. One method, most churches have a cabinet outside. You bring food, people need it take it. They also advertise and park a police cruiser for people to put donations in.

But no, I haven't seen any of the regular food drives like baskets, bins, carts outside grocery stores etc. That's too bad. We also have a legal donation system here for deer cause we can take 4. If you donate you field dress it, bring it to a butcher )legality, must be approved butcher) the food drive pays the butcher fee and it goes where needed.
