Are Republicans really going to take away your interest deduction?

President Trump is a genius. He's got liberals up in arms over possible tax increases.
the gop is going to raise taxes? since when? roflmao
He did say, although it probably was bullshit, that the rich will get NO cuts
Well, we'll see. The Freedom Caucus will not agree. It's unfortunate in that if Ryan and Trump were both on the same team, we might have seen some real tax reform for the first time since Reagan.

Reagan's tax cut, cut the deduction for Health Insurance, dues paid to unions and tools, he signed off and thus supported a large increase in military spending & the three martini lunch.

That was not reform, it was a gift to the business class paid for by the working men & women who brown bagged lunch.
He added to the deficit, for sure. And that's why I never voted for him.

BUT, rates were cut across the board, and taxes became taxes on actual earnings rather seeing how many write offs there are

Reagan's tax cuts reduced taxes for the wealthy at the expense of the working and middle class and brought about the largest transfer of wealth in world history - all of it to the top 10%.

and cut taxes for those who profit from your monthly mortgage payment?

They're considering it.
As well they should

We should get rid of ALL tax deductions and initiate a flat tax on all income

A perfect plan ^^^ to create a banana republic.

Yeah a simple one rate tax plan instead of the hundred thousand page nightmare we have now will surely cripple the country.

Why is it you people think an income tax is any different than a sales tax? Every other tax levied is a flat tax but for some reason applying that obviously successful and easily manged tax to income puts your panties in a twist.

The economy is growing, UE is very low, the deficit is falling.

Why mess with the tax system?
The deficit is falling while the debt is growing and you think that'a a good thing.

How many billions of dollars could we save a year if we were able to gut the IRS?

I've just shown the MID artificially BOOSTS home prices and that eliminating it, far from being a monkey wrench, would restore the housing market to its natural price level.

Now ask yourself: Who is benefiting from our government interfering in the market and boosting higher home prices?

Answer: Home builders, lenders, realtors.

The MID is a massive government wealth transfer scheme up the food chain.

You forgot all current homeowners in your answer.

In order to use Reconciliation, the bill has to be revenue neutral
You don't think they are going after rich people for the money do you?

Hey! Don't tax my yacht
It is a business expense

I know a way to get blacks from producing so many bastard babies. Take away the exemption and child tax credit they get for them and see how quickly they stop producing them. At the same time, give those of us that pay the taxes to provide their food stamps with a deduction for doing so. A win-win.

I get it now

Slash taxes on the wealthy and make the negroes pay for it

No, just make those producing bastard children the rest of us have to support start supporting their own and paying their part for living in society. Those that have been paying, whether you think it's enough or not, fund society. Some black slut that has multiple children with multiple baby daddies hasn't been doing her part.

This woman says someone owes her. I know who it is and who it isn't.

who knows what they're going to do ? they damn sure don't.

Their only real plan is to fill the room with as much smoke as they can, and deflect away from their incompetence.

O did that for 8 years. Now the Rs deflect away.

In all due respect dragon ,,What % of our taxes do the top 10% pay?

That's the thing. It's not like the 1%, or 10%, are evil people. Some certainly are in that they wish to pay no taxes, cut wages and return to a Gilded Age. But not all. On the old board Richie and I agreed society has to have "the rich" because we need an "investor class" or at least people who make their livings seeking out economic opportunities that will, or will not, end up making money. We need risk takers. And mutual funds should seek to avoid risk, so a giant pool of money won't do the trick. We saw what happens with that malfeasance in the real estate debacle. The only alternative is state socialism, which is not an alternative.

The reason WHY 3% of taxfilers pay more than 50% of income taxes is a result of their earnings going UP, and workers' earnings staying roughly the same, for 20 years or more. It really goes back to the advent of Reagan's tax policies ... although a rising tide did lift all boats to some degree until Reaganomics bolt was shot sometime around the election of W.

This is the reason why Ryan (and Rubio during the gop primary) pushed for tax reform. We lack people buying shit. The 1% accumulate wealth. If the economy grows consistently at 3%, the 1% will do nicely as well. The more shit people buy, the better off investors do.

And income taxes shouldn't be overstated. Sales tax, real estate tax, and pay roll taxes are all either regressive or limited in progressivity. And they raise more revenue overall than the income tax. So, saying "the rich" pay all the taxes is not only propaganda but simply a lie.

All current mortgage borrowers are enjoying a tax deduction which is paid for by higher tax rates on every taxpayer. I don't feel sorry for them at all. They are stealing from every taxpayer. They are receiving a government gift which is no different than food stamps.

I have a mortgage myself. I would gladly give up the MID and every other boondoggle tax expenditure in exchange for lower tax rates.

Financial literacy is not a strong suit among Lefty Clowns. Just look at all the lefty loons
that support scumbag Bernie Sanders "Free Medicare for Everyone" with no clue how
it will be paid for.

and cut taxes for those who profit from your monthly mortgage payment?

They're considering it.

Certainly hope so; it's stupid pandering, and encourages debt. All it managed to do is inflate housing prices beyond what the interest costs were in the first place, thanks to morons who can't do basic math and think they got away with something.

Simple thinking ^^^ which completely lacks the consequences of such an action.

FU. Instead of defending your ignorant statement, you result to a personal attack. FU is all you deserve, you lack the ability to prove what you proffer.

Interest rates are the product of the FED, housing costs are the product of supply and demand and location.

They will pretend they're going to eliminate all sorts of deductions in order to make it sound like the plan is going to be fiscally responsible.

In the end it will just be a big tax cut funded by more and more and more borrowing.

Democrats will not support the tax cuts. In order to pass the bill with just 51 votes, Republicans must use reconciliation. Reconciliation must be deemed revenue neutral by CBO to be used

It is going to take some serious cuts by Republicans to pass muster

Lets see what they decide to cut
