Michele Bachmann: I'm quitting my House seat in 2014 - NBC Politics

Tea Party favorite Michele Bachmann, who last year ran for the Republican presidential nomination, announced on Wednesday that she will stand down from her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In a video posted on her website and on YouTube, the stressed that her decision to stand down from her Minnesota seat was not due to any concern she would be defeated at the next election in 2014 or the inquiries into activities of her former presidential campaign staff.
now perhaps the bitch of Benghazi will take a hint...stay home Hillary...we have no need of ye.....

Why so happy? Did she do something to you personally? Guess if you dislike her you must really hate Obama?

it offends me that someone that profoundly ignorant can get elected to Congress.

Well then, Obama being elected President must slay you completely. BTW... Bachmann has a much more impressive professional resume than Barry Kardashian... like, she actually has practiced law, and at a pretty high level.

OOOoooohh REALLY... you mean like a pathetic little COMMUNITY ORGANIZER from NOWHERE with ZERO EXPERIENCE AT ANYTHING getting elected PRESIDENT?

Shut the fuck up IDIOT. You got NO CASE.

Her point is that 8 years is enough. Her point is all elected officials should only spend 8 years, as in TERM LIMITS, shit for brains.

Get a fucking CLUE.

You're so hateful. Just another George Zimmerman waiting to happen.

Michele Bachmann always was, and always will be, a complete idiot. She thinks she's fooling everybody about the reason she is not running again. She is afraid of Jim Graves because he almost won last time and she's afraid he will beat her this time.

She had already began airing a TV ad this month for her re-election!!! The election isn't until 2014!!! So for her to suddenly decide not to run is very curious.

Why Democrats are sad about Michele Bachmann's retirement - The Week

Indeed, says Reid Wilson at National Journal, liberals have delighted in using Bachmann as something of a bogeyman on issues ranging from abortion to taxes. She created headline-grabbing problems for her party, while failing to get much of anything done in Congress that furthered the conservative cause.

Bachmann may have been the loudest member of the class of 2006, the one who inspired the most heated arguments. But she will hardly be the most consequential; her enduring legacy may be the lessons she taught in how to lose friends and become completely uninfluential.

With her exit, Democrats lose a potent fundraising tool. Republicans lose a headache they would just as soon do without. [National Journal]
And here's Ed Kilgore at the Washington Monthly:

Like any left-of-center political writer, I've appreciated Bachmann's hijinks over the years, not just because of her ability to bring The Crazy like no one else, but because she really did complicate the lives of those who wanted to neatly divide today's radicalized conservative movement into secular and religious "wings," or treat the Tea Party as something new and different from yesterday's extremists. [Washington Monthly]

So now running for President is an embarrassment for a State?

huh

It is when you go out and say so many batshit crazy things...

michele-bachmann-insane.jpg

would that be like you have to pass the bill to see what's in it? that kind of batshit crazy thing?

but we still have that woman who said that in our lives because you superior judges of who is ignorant keep VOTING THE CRAZY BAT IN..

Speaking of passing a bill, can you list Bachmann's legislative accomplishments. In other words, could you list (or reference) legislation that Bachmann and her staff wrote, then built support for its passage in the House, and then successfully had the bill passed in the House to later be signed into law. Feel free to include any bills she cosponsored.

That, after all, is the mark of a successful legislator.

For someone who talked about getting rid of minimum wage and was always against the working people, and her constant complaining about government spending, do you think she will refuse to take all of her benefits. The ones the GOVERNMENT pays for in her not being a representative.
Is she not running because of an ethic investigation?

I'm guessing this has a lot to do with it.

The survey, conducted by Public Policy Polling and obtained by POLITICO, shows Democrat Jim Graves leading Bachmann, a four-term congresswoman and former GOP presidential candidate, 47 percent to 45 percent. The results are within the poll’s 4.4 percentage point margin of error.

Graves, a hotel company executive who came within just 5,000 votes — or 1.2 percentage points — of unseating Bachmann in 2012, recently announced that he would be seeking a rematch for the GOP-leaning 6th Congressional District seat. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recently promoted Graves to an initiative aimed at boosting its top recruits.

Bachmann has found herself under growing scrutiny in recent weeks, with the Federal Election Commission and the Office of Congressional Ethics opening investigations into allegations that she paid an Iowa state senator to work for her presidential campaign — a potential violation of the Legislature’s rules. And on Sunday evening, a Minneapolis newspaper reported that the FBI would be joining the investigation.

She did create one job I can think of of the top of my head. Her own.

scurrelous which is spelled scurrilous attack? Really, is that how you are going to phrase this situation?
