Baltimore Cops Should Have Kicked Ass!

On the afternoon when the rioting had just started I said the city should declare a curfew that very night and I called for banning the sale of liquor/alcohol in bars and shops within the impacted area and I also called for banning the sale of gasoline in containers. I also would have put the Police on Alpha/Beta shift or 12 hrs on/12 off to enhance Police presence I think that would have been common sense and not "ass kicking"
And if those things were done Monday night, and the rioting commenced, and escalated, your policy would have been what ? To send the church pastors out ? Lot of good they did.

Not off topic at all. He is showing solid evidence from previous protests and the police activity involved.
It's off topic. The topic is the Baltimore riot of Monday April 27, 2015, and they mayor's foolish policy of police stand-down.

And showing the ineffectiveness of such tactics, by reminding people of prior events is certainly ON TOPIC!
I've already reported him for his numerous derails going off topic. I'll let the mods decide it, although they tend to be rather ineffective in this forum (as he probably well knows)

Including discussion of tactics used in other riots is perfectly logical and on topic. Maybe the reason the mods ignore you is because you are full of shit, and are only whining because you are getting slapped around.
HA HA. You have a habit of pretending things. Same old WB. Lots of people have complained about the lack of moderation in USMB. It's well known for that, and I suspect you know it full well.

I am not the one who is pretending.

You want to pretend that bringing up other riots and protests is off topic. But you brought up other riots, and have done so several times. So you pretend your historical comments (inaccurate as they may be) are on topic, but someone else's are off topic.

Wait, perhaps "hypocritical" would be a better term for what you are doing?

The way you narrow the focus essentially means this thread is ONLY for those who agree that someone's ass [you do not say whose] should get kicked by the Police...
Baltimore Cops Should Have Kicked Ass!for those who agree only
Doesn't mean that at all. If anyone is so clueless as to agree with the mayor's Monday night methodology (which even she has now renounced, & changed on Tuesday), they are free to express their foolishness as much as they like.

The mayors strategy was nuts. I am not arguing that. But charging in and kicking ass is not going to work either.

History has clearly shown that.
FALSE! History has shown kicking ass to be VERY effective. You just don't know what you're talking about (as you have shown a habit of in the past) Ho hum.

I asked you first.

that would change the nation, yet for decades it got little attention. Now, scholars and people like Sellers with first-hand accounts are changing that.

Today, academics, students and others meet in South Carolina for a three-day conference at the College of Charleston. They'll discuss the black power movement and the legacy of the Orangeburg Massacre. Sellers is one of the speakers.

The conference comes after a 2002 book,The Orangeburg Massacre, by journalists Jack Bass and Jack Nelson, and a 2010 documentary,Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre 1968.

Right, because kicking the rioters asses on August 11th in Watts certainly stopped the riots.......well.......it stopped them on the 17th after 34 deaths and $40 million in damages. Yep, they contained that riot so well.

So you are trolling?? In the OP you said: "When we protested against the Vietnam War, Washington DC cops (black & white both) kicked ass. They cracked heads and busted legs with their billy clubs. When the National Guard was there, they had fixed bayonets on their rifles, and steel-tipped boots. If that was the case in Baltimore, there wouldn't have been looting, arson or rock-throwing."

So you brought up historical examples in the OP. Now you want historical examples to be off topic? So you are both a troll (by your own admission) and a hypocrite.

Dude. Overall, police and National Guard toughness has stopped rioting and apprehended thousands of rioters. This is FACT, not opinion. All you are doing is talking inexperienced, ignorant nonsense. I doubt if you know the extremely LOUD sound of an arsonist's leg breaking form a police billy club. Or know of all the buildings that didn't get burned, after that creep was arrested. You don't have the firsthand knowledge that often doesn't get reported in the press (much of it deliberately ommitted), now do you ?

I am sure you relished the sound of a leg breaking. I have no doubt you still have sick fantasies involving such acts.

As for what I know, at least I know the Watts riots involved plenty of fires, destruction and looting AFTER the cops and national guard were called in. You, apparently, did not.

At least I know that there were fires and looting in both the Harlem riots and the Chicago riots. You, apparently, did not.

So spare me these attempts to sound like some kind of expert.

But in those posts I alluded to force being used to fit the situation. The off topic posts went off the topic of fitting force, and diverged into sociology, and false ideas like "dealing with Black folks", which is entirely OFF TOPIC, as you are equally guilty for supporting such delinquencies.

As usual, you want all the posts that agree with you to be taken as fact (even if they are lies). But any posts that disagree with you are off topic. Try arguing the points made instead of just crying like a baby.

His posts concerning force used against a protest are just as valid as the ones you made in the OP. You just dislike opposition and would rather have some "Beat them down!" circle jerk of only those who agree with you.

1. I never thought of it as a fantasy. But you did, since YOU mentioned it in that way.

2. I didn't say there were not "fires and looting in both the Harlem riots and the Chicago riots" YOU said that. And if you're not a worthless troll, who is just trying to derail this thread, then you can prove it, by talking about the TOPIC (Mayor Rawlings, fitting force, rioters, etc), and stop talking about me (or you).

More evidence that you are here to talk about me, to disparage, to troll, and to derail the TOPIC. There hasn't been much talk from you about fitting force, or Mayor Rawlings, has there ? Should we go back through your posts and see how much there is ?
