Who wants to play Bible Tribond?

I had to laugh when I heard this question:

Samson, Jonathan and Winnie the Pooh.

What do they have in common?

yes.....found it
1 Samuel 14:27 But Jonathan had not heard that his father had bound the people with the oath, so he reached out the end of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it into the honeycomb. He raised his hand to his mouth, and his eyes brightened.[a]

Judges 14:8When he returned later to take her, he turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion; and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the body of the lion. 9So he scraped the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they ate it; but he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion.

“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”

Here is another question:

The time Rahab told the spies to hide in the hills, the time the four thousand were with Jesus before they ate, the time Jonah spent in Nineveh.

No one got the answer.

The answer is:

Three days.

Joshua 2:16, Matthew 15:32-38, Jonah 3:3

So...conquest of the holy land, the plagues, and the destruction of Sodom...

The plagues against egypt and the destruction of sodom were punishments meted out by God against people who defied him.

The conquest of the Holy land was domination of Islam exerted over the holy land.

I don't think there is any commonality.

The plagues and the destruction of sodom were not engineered by man in any way, shape or form. They were events that existed beyond the realm of human power.

Not so the conquest of the Holy land.

Here's one!
The conquest of the Holy Land, the plagues against Egypt and the destruction of Sodom.

you'll have to be more specific.....Israel has been conquered many times.....unless you are just looking for a general "all happened according to the will of God", in which case you could add curing polio and the discovery of America and the salvation of humanity to the list......

He's just trolling...but with backup.

Chuck needs to post another one.

The conquest of the Holy Land by Joshua is what is referred to.
Sorry all you biblical scholars were confused.
All three events included the assassination of innocent infants and children by a loving god.
This one should have been very easy.

Wrong. None of the conquests of the Holy Land were by God's hand. Sodom and the plagues were both JUDGEMENTS meted out by a merciful God, after the people and the rulers were given the opportunity (multiple opportunities) to obey God and avoid punishments.

The innocents are taken directly to God, so you can view that as a favor being done to them by God.

Can we have some real stuff now?

It's funny you don't know that it was god that guaranteed Joshua's victory.
Ah, well.
You can lead a horse to water....
