It's worrisome how successful Republicans have been in their propaganda that things like medical care in Canada is somehow deficient, while our medical system limited deaths under covid and our population continues to increase our life expectancy while life expectancy in the USA continues to decline. Opioid deaths were 93,000 people - despite all of the measures and law suits, so clearly whatever Trump did in his 4 years did not work.

The government run health care systems were far more nimble and effective in acquiring and distributing testing supplies, PPE and treatments. While American continue to resist getting treatment because of co-pays, and continued to go to work and spread the disease when sick, those of us with government funded healthcare, sick days, and income supports when sick, got tested and treated right away, with much less spread of the disease, and much lower disease and death rates.

The continual citing of failed leftist dictatorships as examples of what happens under "socialist" government is complete bullshit and propaganda designed to frighten lower income Americans into voting for tax cuts for the wealthy, and against their own best interests.
