Oh bite me. I've been following events in the ME intensely for years. Regarding the rise of ISIS after they broke away from AQ they have had spectacular results in recruiting foreign fighters.

As a matter of fact Baghdadi's right hand military man is Chechen. And the US trained him and others in Georgia. This jihadist led the campaigns that were so successful in Syria and Iraq.

And the upside for ISIS in proving that they can terrorize major foreign centers is more jihadists want to join them because they are winners. 16,000 Chechen terrorists pledged their allegiance to them. That's not chump change.

Ditto Boko Haram. I think they've even overtaken ISIS on kills.
