The shareholders approved his compensation package (most of which is equity stake) what would you rather he do refuse to accept it?

Is he a "piece of crap" for having done something in particular like strangle puppies or is he being considered such for making a lot of money as an executive of a large company? If it is the latter I wonder if there is a certain threshold where someone achieved piece of crap status. Is that kid from facebook also a piece of crap? Dude from Chipotle? Amazon?
