BREAKING: Supreme Court rules Trump is entitled to some immunity in Jan. 6 case

Trump team framing SCOTUS decision as a victory because it allows further delays in cases, legal expert says

The Supreme Court’s decision allowing former President Donald Trump limited immunity in the January 6 case allows the Trump legal team to further litigate and potentially push the case past November, CNN chief legal correspondent Paula Reid noted.

“The fact that the Supreme Court has opened the door for further proceedings for further litigation makes it unlikely that this will go before November. And the reason why that is significant is because if Trump is reelected, he can make this case and the classified documents case go away,” Reid said.

Every president already always had immunity except one- only President Trump did not because of the dirty democrats.

No he will not, this will push it back well past next year. He will either be POTUS or living in a different country.

If Trump moved to another country he'd be expedited .. he'd be on the run.

Trump will be tried. No absolute immunity for Presidents.

Absolute immunity is what MAGA, the GOP and other partisan nuts have been arguing.

And in another 75 years on some summer afternoon, the court will explain what it meant by “limited” or not.

One would think that rulings could be, from whatever perspective you have, either good or bad....you like it or you don’t....you like some of it or you don’t like some of it.

Being intentionally vague is something politicians do. Some legal scholars will say that the ruling spells out A, B, and C and others will say it spells out D, E, and F. Until another court later on comes around and says “oh no, that wasn’t a super precedent (whatever that is)”.

This is Absolute immunity as almost every thing a POTUS does is an official action

Biden campaign says immunity ruling "doesn’t change the facts"

The Biden campaign says the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity “doesn’t change the facts,” and doubled down on allegations that former President Donald Trump “snapped” when he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden.

“Donald Trump snapped after he lost the 2020 election and encouraged a mob to overthrow the results of a free and fair election,” a senior campaign adviser said in a statement shortly after the court issued the decision. “Trump is already running for president as a convicted felon for the very same reason he sat idly by while the mob violently attacked the Capitol: he thinks he’s above the law and is willing to do anything to gain and hold onto power for himself.”

That's life. The framers of the US Constitution argued about meanings during the drafting, and after the ratification.
